Just been chatting with the Motronic master, he claims that Jeffers car was torquier than mine and also had the edge on the power!! Good work Jeffer, thats a fast car you have/had!

Mornin guys,

I just got back from visiting the turbo bloke. He's located in The Netherlands.
He took apart the turbo and came to the conclusion that the locking nut came off. Duhhhh
He couldn't put the finger on the problem right away. He told me the nut was a self locking one, and shouldn't come of by itself....... But it clearly did.
He summed a couple of reasons why this "could" happen.
- No bypass valve
- To much backpressure
- Dropped valve stuck in hotside

I don't see any of these scenarios reflect on my car.
Then there's the schrapnel we found in the engine. It clearly didn't came out of the engine itself. And the turbo bloke told me it didmn't came out of the turbo either. So where did it came from then...... I'll post a picture of that piece tonight.

So it sounds like he doesn't want to take responsibility for this malfunction

I have a vid With M. and me in the car, but I'm having trouble converting it from quicktime .mov to WMV or avi. Maybe someone can help me on this. Then I can put it on my website for you guys to view.

Jeffer - send me the vid in raw QuickTime or DV format - I can convert that to any format if you like. I work in a digital TV company so nuff said !

If the file is too large to Email then I can give you a free FTP site to send it. Just gimme an idea on file size - I would prefer raw DV if you have it as that preserves quality.

Lets sync up this evening if we're on line at the same time and I'll PM you the FTP details for scooting the DV file into my Mac where I can set to work on it.

If you want to try some of this format conversion stuff for yourself take a trip to www.videolan.org and download the VLC application for OS-X. It's utterly free, incredibly clever and mighty useful. Only drawback is its not the easiest tool to use if you aren't experienced in the conversion & format terminology.

With VLC I can convert raw DV footage into DVB compliant transport streams that are suitable for digital transmission on cable, satellite or terrestrial systems... or just as easily convert them into a much more compressed format for web pages.
