Is there any reason not to choose the x-beam version of the rods?
It's rifled drilled and is only 50€ more, which is peanuts in an engine rebuild.
      Please enlighten me.

Yeah, thats what im thinking for my build too. Unless there is some obvious disadvantage with it, hence the question

I think they're a little heavier but that's about it. The rifle drilling is lie OE rods too, unlike a lot of H section rods, which do not have this.

Well the rotational mass on the crank will for me be less anyways since i go from DM to SM flywheel. If weight is the only thing thats against them im gonna get them.

Mass will be like original ones, maybe little bit lighter, but hold power much better when original ones

Well you probably won't since I'm going for 400+ bhp on a RS2 E85 setup, if I want to upgrade after that I at least don't need new rods

Shame that the H beams aren't rifle drilled, as this is my main reason for going to the X beam profile over them.

Rusty just get the x-beam, it has the rifle drilling and when you drive the car I'm sure you'll never feel the difference to the H-beam regarding the mass. And they're only 50€ more
