                  Thanks for the photos!

The photos of the subframe were very useful, I am going to have rear ARB mounts welded on to my subframe this weekend Typ89CQ20Vna (US early) to add a 1987 (4000US) front sway bar to the back where there was none.

Seeing your rust makes me feel better about pouring money into my rusty old coupe... gotta love them!

Here's a few photos of the bits after sandblasting. They're coated with some sort of zinc primer.

You've taken it all to bits and you're not replacing the bushes???

If you're interested? I have a new complete set of poly bushes for the wishbones for an S2, I bought them in error and never sent them back.
Cost about £120.00ish for the set.

Corey It's the bearings that I'm worried about!

Mik, if you've had the hub carriers blasted, the bearings will be at serious risk if blast media contamination.

I would suggest swapping them as an essential.

Don't you guys worry, I've got it all under control.... The bushes/bearings were left in to protect the surfaces from the sandblasting. I'm having them removed, then will touch up any bits of corrosion left and have the bits painted. Then new bushes/bearings will be installed. I'm hoping I'll have them back from all this in two weeks or so....

                            Thanks for your concern! lol...

It just me or does the rear quattro sub frame resemble the front Audi 80 sub frame?
