Looks like i got the stacks and flange from the same place as you, someone from over there cant remember his name
The plenum chamber is a bit of old alloy from a exhaust trim aff a lorry . I decided that i did'nt need a safety blow off valve because i think i have the backfires in check now.
Just remember, NEVER have the nitrous on when you hit the rev limit.
And i'm running five injectors now until i decide to experiment with the outboard's again, like this.
i've heard you can get hold of special outboard injectors with a narrow spray pattern so the fuel doesnt get sprayd on the manifold walls and just trickle into the cylinder, this was the problem i was having with my previous designs.
If i switched from outboard to inboard injectors i could roughly half the injector pulsewidth for the same boost pressure and the same size injector. So there was a lot of fuel inside there not mixing and burning properly.
Looks really nice!!! Pieces around the garage eh? Yeah, I am building some manifolds with some of those peices around the garage.
Did you get those velocity stacks and runner from RSR in the USA? What about the headflange?
So how is the backfire now that you have the nitrous checked, and the injector isnt leaking? Did this manifold incorperate the blowoff you spoke of? What happened to the second rail?
Love the car man! Very sweet one-off work. Cant wait to see some more footage!!
Did that manifold blow becuase of a backfire, or becuase of a stuck injector that made a wicked A/F ratio in the plenum? That was one hell of an explosion. You could fault the welds, but you can clearly see that the cast lower portion went as well. Not that Cast manifolds are stronger then a 6061 manifold that is welded with full penetration.
I think that a pressure blowoff would be a swell idea, especially if you are hellbent on putting injectors in the plenum. Have you thought about putting dual injectors per runner where the injectors are next to eachother on a single rail? It would be kindof like what AudiSport did with the Imsa cars.
The manifold split was a combination of a leaking injector and using nitrous without any provision to turn it off when the rev limit was hit.
Now i use rpm to control the nitrous and turn it off slightly before the rev limit
The car is off the road now and i'm planning on putting on an alloy front pulley and flywheel, then welding some baffles and check flaps in the sump to combat the bad oil surge i've been getting.
This is the manifold for now, made from bits of alloy lying around the garage.

Hello chap, spoke to you at Pod today (black astra)
Was massively impressed with your car so i thought i'd have a look for a build thred for it, and now i'm just amazed by the work that's gone into it.
saw you run an 11.something? with a missfire, think it supprised a few people lol.
keep up the good work.
Thanks, the car was running like a pig i`m sure it would have done a 10 if that ****ing misfire went away. One of the spark plugs got a bath in petrol last time i ran the car and i did'nt get any time to test the car on the road.
