The car's not moved for over a year now, life has a habit of getting in the way
I'll be busy again next year but i'll hopefully get it moving for some videos at some point

No, read this link
Vehicles that have been rebuilt using a mix of new or used parts
In order to retain the original registration mark:
•cars and car-derived vans must use:
The original unmodified chassis or unaltered bodyshell (i.e. body and chassis as one unit - monocoque); or a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original supported by evidence from the dealer or manufacturer (e.g. receipt).
And two other major components from the original vehicle - ie suspension (front & back); steering assembly; axles (both); transmission or engine.
If a second-hand chassis or monocoque bodyshell is used a car must pass an Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) and light goods vans must have a enhanced single vehicle approval (ESVA) or single vehicle approval (SVA) test after which a "Q" prefix registration number will be allocated.
So if you re-shell a car it will be a Q plate.
The only way to keep the original number plate is if you buy a brand new shell from audi or vw and get a receipt
I suppose if you weld new engine mounts on a standard shell, this would be classed as modifying the chassis.

Yes, if you go to a local testing station you can do the IVA test and they will give you a Q plate.
Simples!

Hi, thanks for your quick response.
Could the car not be deemed road legal though, if put through and SVA/IVA test?

Hi, I've read through this thread and it shows some really good engineering principles that have shown through into such a unique build. Could you tell me more about how the car was deemed road legal after installing a new engine and drivetrain, and cutting and spaceframing the shell? Are there certain rules that needed to be adhered to deem the car road legal? CheersLeave a comment:

Well done young man go straight to the top of the class,
just pass by the psychiatric wing on your way there for a quick check

The scoops are fine for drag racing and on the road but would not stand up to continuous abuse on a track.
The fans need to be bigger, i would say at least 3000cfm.
I may well be moving the radiator to the front for next year
