Hoping the car will be going for interior work on the head liner, back shelf and pillars soon, so added sound deadening to roof and cavities in rear and doors.
I'm not concerned about added weight, can always add more boost to make up the difference

I knew going in that the lights were not going to be received well by some folks and that's ok by me. I always have a slight twist on the cars I build, plus the lights have a type of low and high beam, which makes them usable on the road. My guess is the (2) Baja Design lights put out as much light as the original (6)Originally posted by Tractor Dave View PostI love those bonnet vents. Not sure about the spot lights.

Having some difficulty figuring out the wiring on the back of the climate control. I was told that the wire harness is out of a 1986 coupe GT. My electrical diagram does not match with some of the wire colors and was hoping someone might know what wires connect where.
Not sure where the (2) yellow/green wires go.
Not sure if the brown and black are connected to the correct pins "A" & "B" in picture
Not sure where the double brown and Blue/Black wire connects.....not a oem connector, in picture
Not sure what attaches to #1, 2, 3 & 4 in picture.
Any help is would be appreciated.

I am starting to install anything electrical and testing before it goes to have the interior done. So far, the electric door locks are in and working along with the electric windows.
I hooked up all the stereo, speakers, amp & antenna and tested, good thing I did because I forgot the trigger wire from stereo to amp. everything worked great.
I added some 2 1/2" speakers in the dash, I was limited on space due to the roll cage, but it worked out well.

Tackled installing the cluster and steering wheel. Everything went together pretty well, accept for a horn issue. Every time I tightened down the steering wheel the horn would come on. After searching and looking at multiple different diagrams, I figured out that my plastic spacer wasn't in the correct postilion. Next was a crushed horn button wire that was causing some issues. Lastly, I switched out the turn signal lever which had cruise control for the a non CT turn signal. Once all was fixed, everything looks and works goodAttached Files

Next up is the center console. As I mentioned early on, this is out of an 86 coupe gt. Dash, digital cluster, center console along with wire harness.
I was unable to find the two brackets that mount the rear of the console, so I made my own, which worked out well.
I installed the climate control unit, but have two problems. First, the lower lever that moves from cold to hot is hard to move. Second, the top left lever seems to short to lock into the slide.....need to address this.
Otherwise the Plex digital display, controller, window switches and heated switches are all working well.

I had the skid plate and engine aluminum covers powder painted in satin black. It came out nice, but now I need to have the valve cover done to match.

Made front and rear mud flap mounts to protect the paint. I utilized the front of the rockers to attache threaded inserts and mounted the mount to that. Nothing touches the fender. The rears I mounted to the bottom of the bumper that attaches to the inside wheel well.

While waiting in Que to drop the car off for the interior work, which is July 1, I am doing all the little stuff I can.
Added the "Go Fast" switch. Its a 12 position Motec switch and will have different setting of boost and tune for different types of gas / octane.
I couldn't find a replacement button for the hand brake lever, so I made one out of Aluminum.

Its been a little while since posting the process, lots has happened since last post. The interior is completely finished. Mark with Stephens Bros in Nashville did an amazing job building a headliner out of aluminum and finishing with a suede like material. Mark also built the rear seat shelf and made removable panels to access the top of the shocks. In addition, the entire roll cage is wrapped. Pictures just dont do justice to the quality of the work.
All my glass had scratches accept for the new front windshield I had already sourced. I was speaking with a glass guy about repairing the scratches and he asked for the vin number and car info. To my surprise, he sourced the rear, quarters and door glass. He said it was the last units at a larger glass supplier and had been on there shelves for 20 plus years. I sent the glass out for tint and then it took 7 hours to install. I feel fortunate to have been referred to Daniel, one of the old school glass guys to install..
Driving........never thought this day would come. I have done 8 to 10 drives gathering data and after each drive, my buddy in CA grabs the data and then creates a new tune for the next day and I drive again. The car has been running perfectly and currently only running 10lbs of boost, but had run at 25lbs, which was very exciting. We are making changes daily and the over all goal will be low 20lbs of boost on pump gas, mid 25lbs" with a bit of octane additive and 30lbs+ with E85 or race gas.
On a side note, we have been tuning my Lancia Delta as well as the Audi and we are currently at over 300hp at the wheels......talk about a fun little rocket to drive. Audi is a complete different beast.Last edited by Blagave; 29 July 2025, 22:51.
