I purchased a 83 Ur Quattro that has been sitting for years in a disarray. Previous owner purchased a AAN 20v out of a 93 S4. Car has never gotten far enough along to start or drive, so now I am going to strip everything down to bare bones and start from zero.

Had a “Gentleman's” cage built out of 1 3/4” .120 wall chromoly. The plan for the car is to be a daily driver with full interior, AC etc. so a full race cage would not work. This cage helps stiffen up the chassis and ties everything together plus adds a bit of safety. Front strut mount also built

Actually, there has been some rust issues that have been addressed. The drivers rear quarter has been replaced and both front rockers. The work was done very well. I just patched a rust spot in the engine compartment and have the rear passenger lower back wheel well to tackle. But for the most part, the car is in pretty good shape. Eventually the car will get blasted before paint and anything else will be addressed.

I cut the front cross support, so the motor and trans can come out the top instead of dropping the sub frame. I was given a front clip, so I cut out a left and right section and made a center flange. I welded everything in along with nuts on the back side and threaded inserts. Very easy removeal and install.

Have removed the fuel lines, parking brake, rear diff, both front and rear sub frames along with KW shocks. Next I will get engine bay and underside cleaned and address any rust and then recoat underside.

Varia, you are 100% correct. I will not be using the header, turbo or intercooler. Previous owner paid to have header made to fit his needs and the intercooler is too small, but nicely made. I am using another SS custom header with larger tubing and aluminum intake I bought along with FYY o1E 6 speed trans / matching diff and more stuff. Jeff will figure out the turbo I need

I acquired a rare Ron Davis radiator and mounted a Spal Fan and a AC condenser. Yes, I want AC/Heat and all the nice comforts in my car. The AAN 20v engine is wider than the 10v so the radiator does not fit, So I modified the AC mount and the chassis to fit. The Audi AC compressor is a rear connection, which will hit the radiator, so I will mount a 507 side port used on mid 80's Porsche 911's.
Sorry for pictures out of sequence....not sure how to fixAttached Files- 37F6A0A8-DBEB-41AF-A577-AACC72D536BD_1_105_c.jpeg (280.0 KB, 159 views)
