Not as heavy as the bottom end me and Will lifted out of the 90!! Made my balls ache! But you should've seen the look on the delivery driver's face when he had to carry the diff down my drive. He didn't want to take it, but I assured him it was under 30kg
Well done with the project. I hope the rest goes swimmingly!

Hi Ross, no engine still in the car.....
Having two issues currently 1) I seem to be all over the bloody place with work so actually for the first time in months actualy need the car and 2) still trying to get the rack sorted out, the guy I was going to buy one from is away, 4 rings who had a new cabrio rack which would have been fine took payment then decided they couldn't find it to ship......so all in all a bit of a PITA at the mo. Still, the diff is 95% complete, prop is ready and there are more parts than i care to think of dotted about the house
so when i finally source a replacement rack I'm ready to go.
You back in the UK yet?sigpic

I'd have said "Brother Corey" but then we'd sound like some wierd fraternity.
David - I was thinking the same, I've arranged to work nightshifts that first week. So I'll be in the 'right' timezone. Still gonna mess me up though as I set off on saturday night
Even more convenient, the boss isn't in on nightshift :mischeif:AUDI - saving Dad's from minivans since 1994

Rob - a brand new, replacement genuine rear diff from Audi (or your favourite parts supplier) is in the region of £2000. I made that enquiry when I was examining replacing the rear diff myself - instead I decided to look for a decent 2nd hand one (which I never found), and in the meantime fit a new diff mount (which I fitted - one of those Powerflex jobbies)...Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...

Powerflex diff mount to be fitted up to the replacement when it comes off the car and two fresh oem mounts to mate up to the refurb'd prop. Hopefully go on when i get the car booked in for a reworked longlife exhaust :mischeif:
at about 30kg f**k me is it heavy but it's lovely and tight - cheers Tris
In my opinion, I would say "Don't" fit the powerflex rear diff mount, just go OEM. The powerflex is a very stiff mount which in my experience does a poor job of dampening transmission vibrations - especially around the 1500rpm mark.
That replacement diff looks good though!Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...
