We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
Now the full extent of the crap all down the side of the engine can be seen. Also, the amount of G02000 was unbelievable, its has coated everything on the n/s, including the wiring harness which is just a sticky, gunky heap
Rather you than me David
Don't forget a thermostat and that daft little pipe next to it that has a tendency to erupt.
Jas..
Decided to keep the existing stat as it was working fine and new ones seem to be a bit hit and miss. Yep, that pipe is due a change, looks and feels ok but whilst i'm in there makes sense...
Wish I could come and help you, do you still think you might be working on it on sunday? might be able to call round on my way back from sunny london if you could pm me your address.
so it's been a mixed day. plan was to get the lump out and start working on getting the rack in.
However, good progress this morning failed to continue this afternoon, despite help from Ross and brian (cheers guys, muuuuuch appreciated). Usual stuff on the s2, siezed stuff and zero access... we couldnt to get the 15mm downpipe nut off, access as usual. In an attempt to separate the exhaust at the base of downpipe, managed to angle grind two of the bolts off but then hit a problem with the 3rd (on top) which just won't budge.
Sooo, i'm left with that bolt to get a hacksaw blade on first thing tomorrow and then free the d/side engine mount which is refusing to play too
Hopefully then it will bloody come out, if not i'll torch it
Sorry to hear that you did not get as much as you would have liked done. Glad to hear that Brian and Ross joined you.
Did Ross actually get his hands dirty? :mischeif:
Cheers.
Steve.

On those seized nuts that won't budge, try tapping them round with a hammer and a cold chisel, once you crack the seal they should start to undo.Worked for me on several occations, good luck.
