Can you work out which cyl isn’t firing? And if its fuel or ignition

I'd double check the leads on the dizzy in case the firing order is mixed up. Use the old trick of resting a spark plug on the valve cover and see does each cyl spark when you turn the engine over, just to be sure they are all firing.

Then check all the injectors are firing, or try moving them around to see does the problem move cyl. Or try the ecu output test as it will fire each injectors on their own so you can check the elecy bit of them is working.

    Good luck

    Mark.

Right guys, problem sorted except for idle!!!! It seems to dance around the 500 rpm to 1500rpm. Unpluging the ISV sets it at a steady 1200rpm. I have two ISV's and both do the same? The car was doing this before I took it off the road to tell the truth and I didn't tget to the bottom of it then.

Any ideas. I have taken both ISV's cleaned them with carb cleaner, replaced them adn still teh same, Then did exactly the same with a bit of WD40 to clean and hopefully lubricate them and still the same. Ran out of ideas now so over to you guys..

P.S. Sounds peachy hearing that exhaust note again

Checked the throttle switch is closing as it should? Maybe throttle cable to tight?
Doesn't take much to move the throttle switch off the closed position.

I haven't got the thorottle cable attatched as of yet Jas so that could be one of the problems...... Will ahve to check that out today. By the switch I take it you mean the switch below the trottle cable pulley that is rest on (you get the picture!!)

Also guys a few other bits......

For some reason I have no Temp guage working onteh main dash....The oil pressure guage goes right off teh scale and stays there and the oil temp guage is not working????

All the senders were working on the engine before it was taken off the road. Could this be a miss wire that I have missed as the dash seems to tell me that the engine is overheating (wavy lines with the temp signal in it) on the comp screen.......

All those senders come off the junction parts in the loom (the bit with two round ten pin connectors) Could they be mixed up????? Also If they are the right way round (I did check that the 9 wire one went to the 9 wire connector) could the wiring be different??? I.E. different pins????

Cheers for all the help guys.

woohoo! well done mate. Do you not have another ISV kicking about to try?
This might be way off the mark but did you stick in a new lambda? Don't know how the wiring works but is there not several feeds to the ECU that determine the fuel mix? Just wondering if somehow the disabling of the ISV could be overriding the control of the mix?
Only reason i'm spouting this nonsense is that I had an issue with my idle going up and down steadily on my 16v and it was my lambda. don't know if it was something heating up, making a contact, cooling down, disconnecting, heating up and connecting again.. etc etc...
Of course i know jack about these things so i'm spouting nonsense no doubt. better than working though.
                        (pm'd you by the way)

you're right. unlikely. [wild theory shot down in flames]

Have you calibrated your flux capacitor? Might need a good tweaking. erm... [struggles to be any kind of assistance whatsoever].. wash your winscreen sir?

i'm sure you'll get it soon enough. I'm looking forward to a coupl eof jaunts down your direction when I get my car sorted once and for all. maybe pop out for a pint of brum milk or something.

Have you tried a differnt ECU?

If you disconnect the ISV or the fuse blows or is removed it goes into a semi open default state causing the car to idle at 1k rpm and it doesn't move from this

(Ask me how I know this )
