This is a sticky topic.

The only problem is finding/making a x-member to suit, ive tried one from a 9020v but it extends too far fron the mounting face (about 150mm, plus the 70mm thicknoss of the i/c is too much)
so got one from a coupe V6 which is a lot flatter and sits a lot lower.Attached Files

So now the problem is the snub mount position, but one from a urs4 should solve this as its x-member sits in the same position.
So i'll need to remove my air con as it is mounted in the same place as the urs4 snub,it didnt work properly anyway, :wacked:
heres a pic from behind the bumper, just fits, dont see why it shouldnt work,
and it was cheaper than an RS2 intercooler, i know the intake tract will be a tad longer but will go perfectly with a wagner style inlet manifoldAttached Files

Martin, I'm sure that I could fabricate one for you,
I don't know how we could do it. If you made it out of wood I could make a copy in steel?
If you pop over I could whip one up. Surrey to Cheshire is a short run in an S2
Have a think.
I'm making some sheet steel seat bases 1950's 'd' type Vincent Motorcycles at the moment.

David, the ideal solution would be a x-member (like in the second pic) that is flat right across (without the 45 degree angles at each end) that way i can keep the original snub mount position, and generally be a lot easier to sort out.
i could take some measurements from the 90 20v x-member i have,
i may be in touch then m8.
cheers

Martin,
Could you not just cut the mounts off the original one you have there, after taking some measurements from it this is, and weld a length of box section with the mounts at either end?Greg

Hi Martin,
Looks great that IC.
Did it fit ok behind the rs2 bumper?
Do you have any dimensions of the IC?
Would really help if I have some dimensions.
Thanks

Jeffer,
See this thread
http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...096#post29096.
After the Standard S2 bumper had been cut a little it went on.
Martin has the sizes
Fitted behind the grille photo for your information.
It went in OK but was a tight fit!

Jeffer,
im still using the original bumper at the moment
core size is 600mm x 300mm x 76mm..overall width is about 750mm
IMO 300mm is the max height you will be able to fit behind the stock bumper, havent got round to repairing the RS2 one i have yet suppose there may be a little more room using that.

Ok, what do you think will fit the rs2 bumper. Think 40 cm will fit? The bigger the better, at least that's what my girlfriend says
thanks
