The car has done about 300 miles now since the engine has been rebuilt so its almost ready for a remap.

Today i fitted the wagner IC kit.

Here is my custom made setup that i was using before with maf on pressure side and twin DV's:

I had to go back to my vacuum mounted maf as i couldn't get one fitted in to the new hose, its just 2mm to narrow i spent hours trying with heat, washing up liquid and i even reduced the OD of the maf body by 1mm all the way round.
It fits now but just slides off again as its to tight.

So until i can get an alloy or steel maf body made up that allows this hose to fit i will use the vacuum mounted maf instead.


All that's left to do now apart from the above is fit the 3" downpipe and get a new exhaust made.

I'm insanely jealous this is running, well done mate it's been a hard road but it looks well worth it!

What turbo is it? I can't work out if it is a RS2 or 3071r from way back when the thread started!

Have you mounted the turbosmart DV?

Hehe cheers mate, its an RS2 turbo i was never planning on changing that, they give insane amounts of torque and that's all im after really.
The Turbosmart valves still need some pipework welding up, im mounting them between the turbo and IC now as there is no space on the other side. I did toy with the idea of cutting 2 38mm holes straight in to the IC end tanks and having the valve connectors welded in but i think ill stick to having them run of the pipework instead now.


Just have to decide whether or not to supersise the turbo to IC pipes too or if i should stock to OEM hose diameter.

I decided to stick with stock pipping

Lupo911 and 034 both recommended 2.5" in Carsten's case 70mm if possible, however larger piping allows the air to uncompress very quickly out the turbo and I'm not sure that's such a good thing.

Turbo to IC pipe is now done and fitted.

The 3" turbo back exhaust is now finished and fitted.

A company called Phoenix exhausts built it for me.

Its very silent for a 3" system and gives off a lovely burble. I used the downpipe from the Swedish group buy and it ended up not fitting so they had to correct it.

Only problem with fresh SS zorst like that is it makes everything else look so old... Seems like a nice fit there. Good clearance over the rear driveshaft Bo ?
