Carlos - yeah, I found on my 7A head - search for 'Machine Head Project' thread that the washers only exist under the INLET spring seats. On 20V turbo heads there is a washer fitted under ALL spring seats.

Q for you - where did you get that VSOS removal tool ? I had a fight with mine using pliers and wouldn't wish to do that again.

      Good progress mate

Watching this one with interest - are you keeping a cost tally or trying not to think about it?

What are you aiming for with this build?

Easy, just search Ebay.co.uk for 'valve seal'. Plenty of hits, this one cost £15.50 total and with me in three days!

        If other peps need it?

Not a race build for sure! So not interested in titanium stuff! Just better, stronger and matched parts with tighter tolerances. Valves will probably go up 0.5mm. Porting will aim to increase and balance all inlets and exhaust flow rates.

Reliability with power is the aim.

Costs...i'll start putting it down for people, just trying not to be stupid?

                  The right tools really help...

One slide hammer later and 3 oil plugs removed from the cam sprocket end...

                      Water core plugs...

a few taps with a centre punch and hammer had the plugs out (dropped inside the head though ). Managed to pick them out with some small tweezers then carefully levered out with a claw hammer.
