haha. in this case I brought home an almost perfect specimen and when I got her clothes off she appears to have been hiding some issues. So.. it appears i've pulled a munter.
But.... i've a new lady lined up and shall drape her in the disgarded finery of her predecessor...
Have I gone too far with this analogy? yeah.. probably. sorry

I'd still be there just now with the trusty hacksaw! I can't honestly see it taking any more than 5 minutes to get the rest of it stripped.

haha. yeah, I have a voice at the back of my head all the time i'm doing this that keeps giggling and saying "there's no way you'll remember where that goes" so i've labelled everything in sight and taken loads of pictures.

Got a 'new' shell from Sal in the midlands. still working on how to get it up to Glasgow though. one guy I know up here was going to bring it for me but a last minute recalculation of costs skyrocketed and I had to decline his offer.

The new shell has the interior still in apart from the dash so I won't have to mess about too much inside, apart from maybe swapping my seats over if I need to. And a lot of the parts i'm taking off underneath are going down to Sal so he can leave the same on the new shell. saves him taking them off and me fitting my own on.

still scares the crap out of me though

What Noels not teling you folks is that the two lock ups are not even near each other.

Everytime he takes something off he has to walk a few minutes carrying each part as he goes. It's a good 250 yards to the next lockup.

Kudos to you again my friend and just let me know when you need me to help move the engine etc, and I will make sure the trailer is empty...

That looks like a solution to many a thing. I reckon that you just cut the body away from around the engine, what's the worst that could happen!

possibly this week mate. depends on the bloke that is due to tow it up. I think he might be working it into his schedule.
and no i'm not finished with the first one yet. i'm battering ahead with that now. Looks like all my bits stripped off the 1st shell will be hung or stacked at the back so the new car can go in.

Stevie's right by the way. the 2 lockups are separated by a path. part of the same set but to drive there I have to go round the outside of a block of houses, which means I have to carry parts or stick them in the back of my car and drive round. pain in the *** but I couldn't get anything bigger in the area on a short term let.
If there's a difficult way to do things I will be pioneering it.

Ciaran - thought had crossed my mind mate but i'll attempt the methodical approach first and see if it comes to a bit of stihl saw action later on

exhaust off. think i ended up wearing most of it.

This classy bit of kit is the straight through that was welded onto the back when the back box was bggred in the bump. I wonder if the professionals have considered a good severe angle like this. bound to be good for the exhaust gas flow

By the way that reciprocating saw is a life saver. don't fancy having gone through that bolt with the junior hacksaw.
