    Audi has now gone

But, in its place lives project Golf. Which is gonna be mental!

Becky and I pulled the engine and gearbox out. Shes a good worker

    Tris solid front mount
    Hi-spec brakes 300mm
    Giant intercooler
    Poly bushes all round
    Spec clutch stage 4
    17" wheels
034 Ecu setup and custom plug in wiring loom
    034 equal length exh. manifold
    GT3071R turbo
    Uprated rods
    630cc injectors
    Yoko Parada tyres
    H&R rollbars 28mm rear and 25mm front

          Sniper on the side!

What about traction with a gt3071r, 16 inch wheels would give a better ride for everyday use and still accommodate the 300 mm Hi Spec brakes?

I am making the above comments based on the assumption it is for everyday use?, which is more fun than a more extreme track day only car, but horses for courses.

89 Mk2 Jetta synro with 1.8 T @ 362 bhp and 348 ft lbs is the current hack on this end.

Comments made to provoke further discussions on this project and Mk2 even though it is an S2 forum, as quite a few members appear to have Mk 2 Golfs also, which is great for me also.

Bottom line, nice car and looking forward to any progress updates, (no pressure!) enjoy doing it and most of all driving it.

          Kind regards.

17s are on as the look great LOL
I will be using it everyday, but also for trackdays, i might get some 16's for everyday use, but the 17s came up and were at the right price

Im allowed to post projects about golfs on here, ive been on this forum for many years. I have grandfather rights! LMAO

BHP aim is around 400-475, not sure how it will run yet, but torque curve should be sweet. The plan is to fit haldex setup from a S3 or TT at a later date, and i only want to do the engine once. I spent too much money messing about with turbos on my s2 (4 in total).

No one has made comment on my astray yet, i assume you are all jealous???

                    Haldex - Yes please!

Right I'm gonna hide in behind your grandfather rights and keep talking Mk 2 on S2forum.com.

Haldex, you're dead right, that's the one slight problem with my syncro (at just 362 bhp) is that the front wheels spin in the dry if you move off smartly, even with a Quaife LSD in the gearbox. Haldex would sort it, but it is beyond my ability at present. Looking forward to any picture gallery / how to when you decide to do it.

17's do look better and if there infront of you - absolutely.

I agree with only doing the engine or anything on a car once, plus it is always nice to have too much power than too little.

Let the fun begin, once the ashtray has been uprated.

                    Kind regards.

some more pics, engine is now rebuilt and mated to the 02a gearbox.

Have modified the sump a wee bit by adding a windage tray from Mk3 Tdi and also some home made baffles are welded in to help stop the oil starvation during cornering at speed.

At least i hope it will. Weitec coilovers, H+R rollbars and fully poly bushed and Yokos should help it

Also chucked a bi-xenon HID kit in there for good measure. Might make night driving safer

Yeah. But you might loose your night-vision powers you developed while driving your S2.
