Just needed a slight trim at the bottom.
The front grill did need a bit taken off to make it just a bit thinner.

Fit two... it works fine for me. Lag is virtually none existent. Efficiency is better in my opinion. You can feel the temperature difference on the face of the intercoolers. Temperature only rose by 7 degrees from normal cruise to full boost.

Looking at pics in the new post by aronmatic, maybe the standard rad can be made to fit in it's original position?

About the drive train..... I had before quattro conversion FWD coupe 85 model fited with 3B engine and MRC generic chip 276 hp and 016 gearbox no quattro from an 200 fwd. Except the thing that was undrivable on boost.. The drive shafts (original ones) 4 bolts and pressed steel arms had nothing. So with quattro transmision you will have no problems with the drive train. I recomend to fit a tower brace in front.
          All the best!

Just started this conversion using a 3B, (though just given myself more work by reversing into the stripped down head?), and am using the CGR 6 speed gearbox that I have been able to fit without modifying the tunnel and as the final drive is the same as the Cq at 4.11 you can keep the rear diff. First 5 ratios are not that far off the standard gearbox but 6th is geared for 24.5mph which should help on long journeys on the motorway and the mpg. Can supply further details on request or wait until the article is in Audi Driver in a few months time.

Would be interesting knowing more about this, what cars are the boxes fitted in btw?

Do you have any threads anywhere about the 20v in yours?

                threads

My 3B conversion will be standard to start. Want to get everything in and running before playing further. But seeing as I presently have a 7A. I will be fitting the 7A exhaust cam only and getting the whole thing set up right with MRC. The six speed work is quite extensive if you wish to make the gearchange work without it catching the bodywork. Basically you throw away ALL the S2 linkage and modify the original Cq linkage to work with the 6 speed CGR box, add a spacer to the back of the gearbox so the original prop mates up to it and use 90 series 3 driveshafts and Cq CV joints along with the flanges from the Cq box (these need modifying slightly) and it works a treat with a change pretty much as per the 5 speed. Oh and I need to modify the gearbox housing to take a cable speedo which is not an easy job.

I've been told that you must use an 200 20V flywheel in combination with the 016 gearbox

It's best to use audi 100/200 turbo flywheel and the clutch. If you use older one (84-88) - it will be heavy, not best choice for performance, but nice in traffic jams. If you use newer one (88-91) it will be same as 20v item. It's not mandatory to search for 20v flywheel. It's not necessary for 100/200 to be quattro either, it just has to be turbo.

As far as I am aware, I am using the original flywheel ( from the N/A 90q ). as already said, the clutch is lasting well, but it is very heavy.

You're obviously used to the clutch, but I think very heavy is an understatement.

Whatever the CQ must be, is drivable, so I'd rather not go back to a VW 1600 Fastback type clutch peddle....

About the speedo cable is not so dificult.
You remove the oil seal at the left side driveshaft flange, remove the existing magnet drive and put back the worm wheel. The old 016 gearboxes have allready the thread for the cable pinion suport,.... if not you have to make that thread there. I have done this at my 5 speed ARV gearbox from the 3B engined S2. Was no prob!

The reason for using turbo flywheel is timing pin, used for Motronic ECU. You are not using it, so you are free to use anything .
