The arp kit for main bearing is OK I think. My problem was that I used a custum main bearing girdle so had to use custom studs/bolts (used a headstud kit for a Ford Zetec )

I mounted my Raceware studs this week, checked with an empty engine block first, and the studs goes a few millimeters into the side of the hole that the oil valve is in.
But I don't really se why it is a problem, because studs should only be inserted by hand power, then the nut should be tightened by "letal force" . So if you don't have very strong fingers, the oil valve should be OK. I checked my oil valve just to be safe, and it was still in mint condition.
One problem, though, would be if you insert the studs first, before the oil valve.

Man sorry aobut your bad luck. While reading a few pages back about you bad luck I was thinking too if maybe this was related to the check valve issue. Great job so far, its nice to see someone take on a project such as this themselves. Keep up the good work and good luck with the project, I'll be watching.
