As it was such a perfect evening yesterday I thought I'd go and burn some V Power out in Derbyshire

Thanks!, They're lighter than both the forged and pressed arms.

Update time! Not really made any changes recently becasue, touch wood!, the car has been dead reliable and I've just been driving it But I have been making and collecting parts that I had planned to fit over the winter, but I've not actually started yet

New aluminium radiator from Vidar Skotheim

Billet steering arms from Jay at Dynamic Motorsports, to match the billet steering bracket he also supplied.

Converted the throttle body to V band to eliminate the silicone hose. I don't have many problems with boost hoses coming off, but if I do it will be that one! Still making the 70mm stainless pipework to match.

I've also re-done the breather system, the system is the same, as it works, but the parts are custom made for my engine bay.

Even bigger rear brake kit, this will retain the 43mm piston caliper I already have but uses the 300mm Phaeton disc, B5 RS4 hub and carrier

And finally I wanted new stronger wishbones on the rear, but not wanting to splash out on Sport quattro ones, I decided to make my own, using at standard bottom ball joint and Powerflex black series bushes.
This is the jig I made

    Trial fitment

    The finished article

Now I just need to find time to fit all this!

Bloody hell that's crap! Not your welding, the mild steel on a stainless exhaust part

The first V band clamps I bought had stainless clamps and mild steel bands. Useless after 12 months of use. You have to read the details carefully with some of this eBay stuff mostly sourced from China.

Had to do some repairs on the exhaust today as it turns out the flexi joints I bought had mild steel end caps, something the seller failed to mention!

As you can see, they've not lasted well

Got some new ones, making sure I got the ones that specified 100% stainless

Really nice job on the cable brackets Andy. You've inspired me to get some made for mine
How are you finding the KWs?

    TIG set is this one:-

The TIG 201 AC/DC 200Amp Inverter TIG Welder features HF microstart, AC squarewave adjustment to 250hz, pulse welding, slope up/down, LED display and a high 60% duty cycle at 200 amps. Includes FREE TIG torch, earth, MMA lead, regulator, R-Tech Pro remote foot pedal worth £142 and a 3 year warranty!

The filter is from a Volvo/VW Transport and as it was only a £1 more than the std filter I thought I'd see if it fits, which it does, just. Much bigger filter area and an extra 0.5ltr of oil capacity.

If you wait until they have one of their sales, you can pick them up for about £4!
