the problem is... when the pad plates were in place, they were all bent. but when i removed them they are straight. so the dirt behind them was causing the bending. i cleaned the surface behind the plates, and the plates themselves, and still i cannot push the pads in place. i think they should just slide in place, but the would n`t go in place even by using a hammer.

at first i thought that i have the wrong pads, but they fit the calipers perfectly. they are TRW pads, with the code GDB 966, WVA 20953 and 13.2171

yes, the pads are the right ones. now i need new bolts for the pad plates...

Pistons and seals look ok, take them out and get them bead blasted and powdercoated - like new again

In the olden days it was called 'sand blasting', but now there are numerous different materials of 'small beads' that are used to removes paint from any surface.

aha so here they use very small beads of metal, sand, and even tiny pearls of glass or something...

i will put them on the car, and then renew them in spring, or buy a new pair

yeah glass beads are good for blasting alloy as they are not too aggressive, just removed paint and corrosion but doesn't affect the metal surface

one hardline on the drivers side is seized, so i could only replace one pipe, everything else went ok.







there is still some air in the system, so the pedal is very soft. i will drive it around tomorrow, and then bleed again. i want to feel results

sorry man, but it is not going to happen. it will stay a 2.0 16v. i have a plan of installing an ABF engine from a Golf 3 gti, which is basically the same engine only with digifant 2 (sequential) injection.

I will work on that engine then...
