Hit me up on PM or skype when you are ready to give the upgrade another go. Use 1.1.67 BTW...

a good old hydrolic lock eh.

BTDT with my vems on almost the first ever start. before it reaches this stage there is usually a shhh type sound as the cylinder and piston push the fuel past and into the sump.

seems the biggest challenge is not tuning but firmware upgrades.

just pop the plugs out and turn her over as previously stated. put a rag over stuff.

marc - can you supply me an isv harnessw please. how do i order it?

Firmware upgrades are not hard with VEMS but you must observe the VEMS warnings on the wiki. I've done quite a few now.

For all VEMS user observe http://www.vems.hu/wiki/index.php?pa...irmwareChanges

This page lists important changes to the firmware. Check this before downloading a firmware that is meant for production

IMPORTANT: when uploading new firmware to a controller (even with a motronic55 connector!), to prevent filling cylinders with fuel or possible igncoil or igndriver damage:

              * remove ignition fuses
              * remove injector connectors and remove fuelpump relay
o or otherwise make sure the fuelpump is off, eg. hidden anti-theft switch
o Upload and verify config, and measure voltage in the injector connectors before powering the fuelpump
o Explanation: when table positions change inside EEPROM (as between 1.0.73 and 1.0.78), the h[0] and h[2] might get corrupted (might fill the cylinders with fuel).
o To avoid this, after firmware upload, upload config and tables, reboot, verify, measure, than power ign and inj only if all is well.
              * but first of all: READ EVERYTHING BETWEEN OLD AND NEW REVISION and check if any of the changes affects your configuration. Take action if necessary. For example, if you used an 1.0.13 firmware, and upgrading to (eg. 1.0.23), when reading through all changes for intermediate releases, you will see (at 1.0.14) that fuelcut_min_kpa must be adjusted reasonably. If you skip 10 mins to read through, you'll sit in the cold car for hours and wonder why the engine does not start and notice injector pulsewidth is 0.

It's only really the VE which if your on 12x12 will needs to be changed to 16x14 and setting the lambda target to the new 8x8 size.

It's a lot easier than you think, if your upgrading with Pnassay he will give you 2 maps one to upload post upgrade and one of example with all the default configs.

I used his over the VEMS default map as the stock Vemstine config MAT retards are a bit aggressive for a turbo car and his are tweaked more to a turbo car.

Today I emptied the intercooler. About 3 liters of fuel came out if it

Too bad my battery was not able to deliver enough power to get it cranking, in order to get the last bit of fuel out of the cylinders. The battery is charging at this moment. Next few days I will continue with draining the engine and replace the oil and oil filter.

Hopefully it will all go as planned.

OK, the engine is running again. Now I have the issue it won't rev above 1500 RPM.

Could the spark plugs or something else gone bad while it was soaked with Fuel?

The car idles fine at 1100 RPM. When it idles and I slightly press the throttle it raises till 1500 RPM and all of a sudden the RPM falls down to 700 RPM and the engine starts stumbling. I need to use a flick on the throttle again to get the idle stable at 1100 RPM again.

No matter if the engine is cold or warm, this issue remains. Could the exhaust be blocked as well? The exhaust it self sounds normal, but maybe I should check if the turbo spins.

Take the hose off the throttle plate to be sure your getting enough air first there cold be something in your intake?

Does VEMS read the MAP signal ok?

Map sensors do not take fuel, so if even a drop reached the diaphragm, it's dead.
