no post long time ago.
i had 3 days for work on my car.
it needs the wireing for standalone ecu and the exhaust system.
i have one more week for finish the engine bay and the suspension, brakes and the rest.

The IAT's will naturally rise even more at low speeds in heavy traffic. However, the hot components will continually heat the surrounding air, and an exposed filter will suck it in. If this was not the case, you would measure ambient temp (outside temperature) at the filter surface. Temp at the surface of the filter represents the temperature of the air before the intercooler.i allways measuring intake temperature. geting hot on heavy traffic. the air has no time to geting hot. did you mesured how much air needs the i5 engine in one sec on 6000rpm?
did you measured how much air changing at 90km/h under the hood? i think lot.
i learning this, long time ago.

I have measured 60 degs at the surface of an open (but shielded) cone filter on a day with 14degs ambient, going 50km/h+ That translates into a massive power loss.when you going with 20km/h, the air changing much faster in the air filter area, than the engine use. if you go faster, its changing more. i measure the intake air temperature in my ecu. nothing big different, only when you stay in heavy traffic. if you stay in heavy traffic, you dont need cold air.

The turbo/manifold area of the I5 gets way hot. The designers even put heat shields on the sealed airbox..Leave a comment:

i am using allways the same ecu. our whistlerracing standalone engine management.
