Audi S2 3B back on the road

On our RHD's the 3b has the battery under the bonnet the aby has it under the rear seat

OK. Wonder why though... My 2 3B´s have had it under the rear seat too.

This is because of the brake servo and master cylinder have been moved across and no space left for battery then

Looking good, what stuff did you do to clean up the engine bay? anything special?

Used good old gunk first with brass wire brush then sponged down and dried up and finished with Auto Glym rubber/vinyl care stuff(yellow writing bottle)

Right the next stage is about to begin:

Going to rip the engine out in the next couple of weeks...

Going to strengthen bottom end

Have a recon'd front sub to stick on to all nice and painted

Good clean up of the engine bay and wiring

Full RS2 swap over

Larger front mounted intercooler

Reverse IM

Just stuck on the clutch at the moment ..need to change over but not sure what to get ..the power i am looking at is only 350-80 so doesnt need to be crazy stuff

Any ideas?

The fun has begun

Well not long back in from dismantling more bits of the car ..ready now for the engine coming out ..2 nuts off the mounts and 1 bolt left in the belhousing and she is out





Something I decide to do different this time when removing the engine was to unplug harness via the bulkhead to save having all the wires tucked up at the back of the intlet manifold..main reason was less hassle when putting back together with regard senders on the engine as they are still all connected and access to the belhousing bolts was a doddle

Working on rad still..using slimline fan and lowering mounts

Been busy tonight again ..Engine out now



Got the manifolds off and changed over the Cams only one stud snapped on EM so happy with that ..

What method are you going to use to remove the snapped exhaust stud?

weld something on?
double nut it (if there is enough left)

are you still needing the fuel rail steve. You do like getting your hands dirty! Could you not do the rods like what we done on my car? Mine is going up to get mapped hopefully in the next few weeks. Mind you not sure if the clutch will cope longer than a week. The joys!

Pete I will use easy out ..drill hole in centre of stub ....heat with acetylene torch and out she comes(fingers crossed)

Craig ..yes still needing fuel rail ...This time you tell me when you will be home so i dont miss you like last time

I am contemplating stripping internals but for the power i am going for she will handle it ATM ...Going to clean the engine back to new and the engine bay ..looking at the wiring to have it all piped and clip on and off process so if i want to take the engine out again it will be a straight forward process

Clutch i got sent is the wrong one so ..held up to a degree until i get it replaced ...Hopefully will see you on the road then with the S4

why not go for the clutch i had, in my 3b. It was nice at normal driving and it can be good for further power upgrades coming on later. cheers

I ended up buying the organic clutch off ebay ...Bit risky i know, but the pressure plate is Sachs and the rest looks good so thought what the hell

Well starting to get round to the **** parts of the job ...HAd a wet and dry session on the cam cover ..not bad results
