Rods are scat and the pistons are JE racing spec, ceramic and teflon coated with total seal rings.

cool, i'm going for scats but not quite the same spec pistons as you, JE's with total seal but not the teflon coated and ceramic. What sort of power are you aiming for (most normal say as much as they can get)

Im going to play with the gt3071r until i get bored then who knows theres plenty of headroom in the engine for silly power i want to make sure the car is 100% first im going to renew pretty much everything unless it is servicable as i intend to show the car aswell as race it, its going to take time but i cant have old rusty parts ruining the shiny ones!

Wow, color me ignorant, but what in the world with those pistons?!! I've never seen pistons with such little body/short skirt!? Care to educate me/share info , benefits, details?!! Nice parts list!

As jamo says speek to aelred im sure he will give you the lowdown and cost, i just wanted overkill so the engine is ready for later enhancements.

Teflon coating stops the eggs from sticking.

                          Jokes aside:

The Teflon coating lowers component friction freeing up more power, but also adds to engine component life. Piston clearances can be smaller, allowing a tighter clearance between the piston and the cylinder wall. This prevents power robbing.

                          Ceramic coating:
Pistons can increase their performance characteristics with ceramic coatings. Coating the piston's crown and top will cause heat reflectivity, driving a percentage of any detonation energy back into the fuel burn zone, to increase fuel burn efficiency. It will also lower carbon buildup, which reduces detonation quality, as it builds up on the piston's crown and increases the risk of detonation damage to the piston crown surface.

                          Short wasted skirts:

Piston weighs far less then conventional, there is less friction as less contact between cylinder wall and piston therefore freer, quicker and higher revving

These pistons will take in excess of 800BHP

Hope this answers the question asked above.

Is ther no way these pistons can turn in the bore, i understand they are close but they look like a side load could tilt them

Graham I think not, it is an impossibility as they have a skirt on the throw side, the wasted skirt is on the small end pin on either side. So looking at them you could say that are a "T" shape
