Well......

yesterday i had fited my 01A ASZ gearbox.....

and i have to say that for the moment it is the best upgrade in the car with .the same as m front brakes¡¡


it is complete awesome¡¡ how it feels reving to 7000rpm boosting 1.7bar.....

my car it is now much more driveable and fun ¡¡¡

a worth mod for 3B owners who they dont mind to spend a little more fuel crusing at 130km/h

and with this gearbox, i think that the connecting rods will works better,talking about for dont bend rods

My car is being repaired at the moment, I expect to have it back end of next week if all goes well.

my plans has turned 180º .......

now i have to forget any 3B engine upgrades or nothing about the stroker AAT block...because it will be easy and "cheap" make the "Sweeper" engine bay + transmission swap. it is a 800kms used engine...with a very high specs made and build for PK Motorsport..... this guy must be a master with our engines.

i will make pictures whem i receive it

and did you saw the 608hp and 660nm dyno results of his car with 98fuel and a "street" and reliable ECU map???

there is not much difference between the Cq 01A and the first 5 gears of the 01E as I suspected

later 01E are stronger of course,but depends the use it receieved in the past...if not see what happend with Jonas R CGR box....

01A ASZ only it is different in the driveshafts and gear ratios than ARV´s

this is just the audi books said.

ARV´s driveshafts are stronger (wider) than the other coupe quattros. but i will use the ARV´s ones and it is a straight fit,without any mods all plug/play. after all, ASZ box it deserves a chance or not??

of course it is better to upgrade to 01E but this requires more parts,time,and money...

ASZ box it is lighter aniway but i would like the 6th gear for motorway use and better fuel economy

AFAIK it is the bearings that are the weak point so perhaps you can uprate them.
Surely the first 5 gears of the much stronger 01E box are similar to the ASZ rations though?

"salto de marcha" it is something like gear change at "xxx" rpm ok??

i think that the ASZ gear ratios are far better for fun use than ARV´s and better than 01E cgr first 5 speeds

in my friend´s car it works so niceeeeee , the car it is complete stock 0.8bar boost and whem you drive it it seems like it has 280 or 300hp

ASZ boxes are not as strong as the ARV 01A i'm afraid Rocco, it won't last long with a remapped S2 IMO. The S2 version of the 01A was strengthened to cope with the torque.

true?? the AUDI books does not said nothing about it,so i will try with it (crossed fingers )

i have a friend using it and for the moment works perfect and it is much more fun and drivable than the 01A ARV , i tested it¡¡

it is a very straigh fit and we will see.... if not, i think that it could be strengthened in some way to use these gear ratios in to the box.

well.....

this weekend i installed the new original RS2 airbox with a pipercross air filter in it

many thanks to S2 Avant forum member¡¡ great service¡¡

there is enough space for install it with the k26/27

hope that now the engine can work better ¡¡
