Just comparing the two sections, the 2x3" pipe is around 10% larger area but has 50% more surface area.
Looks well mate there Terry, I'll be after a nice side exit myself at this rate, if I can't make it go faster then I can sure make it sound faster

It was your comment that total diameter was 6", which wasn't true, just being an anally retentive engineer... old habits and all that.
As you say Alex, it's still F'ING BIG!Leave a comment:

Thats quite a bit,It's not diameter but area and don't forget that 2 smaller pipes have more surface area and thus more losses at the surface.
2 x 3" pipes gives 14.13 inch^2 area and 18.85" total circumference.
1 x 4" pipe gives 12.56inch^2 and 12.57" circumference.
Based on that I'd say there wasn't much in it really between the 2 3" pipes and single 4" pipe
If you hold a 4" pipe and 3" there is alot of difference instantly.
But its not a pissing competition its just a exhaust

Um.. every thing you "mock" up will move when you weld it. I wish you luck doing that way.
Total diameter of the exhaust at that point is 6" so i very much doubt it, smallest is the 4" down pipe

Guest repliedHavent got a clue at the mo, theres a welder near me that can weld anything so if i can mock it up and all hes gotta do is weld that should keep the costs down.
Wont those 90 bends be a bit restrictive there?Leave a comment:

Mine sounds pretty good, considering its a 4" down pipe. How do you plan to make it?
Haywood and scott wanted close to 2k for what i built
