Just wanted to add, the guy that recommended this also converted to a vaccum system from a normaly aspirated whilst at it. Im tempted but not sure how much work is involved.

And should do away with the long bar that goes to the other side that the passengers can press if they are bored and suicidal.

depending how much bigger than the one's you currently have fitted it would probably help slightly with keeping the car level under braking so its not nose down all the time.

The standard fit WR ur quattro rear calipers with uprated pads. Later cars have vented discs.

I belive the later 20V quattro had rear vented discs, but I'm not sure if this would really make much difference? Mainly better for heat dissipation under hard use.

You can use the 7A master cylinder that has a piston of 25.4 mm .

Are they 986 front calipers? Do you know the size of the pistons?
I heard about another Ur a while ago which had similar issues using 996 rear calipers on the front.

All the asist circuit, switches, bomb, master cylinder and prop valve have been repalced over the past few years. I have Porsche 986 calipers on the front.

I believe I have the standard 22mm tandem master cylinder.

Does anyone know if there is another larger VAG MC I could use, presumably to decrease the pedal effort, or increase the pressure applied?

Ralley quattro looks like he went for even louder with that extra small rear box

Yeah, I think the Ur was loud and quite stiff. But for a hobby car that's not bad at all.
And you still have your Focus RS daily driver

Let me know how you get on with the rose jointing, would be great to see some pictures. The return springs were changed on my 01E gearbox were changed which were very worthwhile (they screw into the side of the gearbox and help centre the lever)

The linkage is a real PITA to get to!

Now have some wishbone and arb bushes to fit/get fitted, think I will try this before going to alu subframe mounts as the subframe mounts are stock but were not long ago replaced.

What have you done or not done with your suspension set up?

H&R Springs and Koni Inserts. All standard bushes (replaced about 8,000 miles ago when the car had standard power!)

So, I could quite easily drop in some Poly wishbone bushes and ARB bushes.

Subframe bushes not so easy to change though! Alloy ones, do they really tighten her up or not?

Once it's settled into the corner it's fine, but there could be a bit less play/slop about the dead centre.....

The gearshift quality could probably be finessed a little too....

oh, and has the GT40 got the "bag of snakes"
