Would you be able to do me a huge favour, I have one of those factory nets that goes between the seats and the roof, my car never had any so I am wondering if you could kindly take few shots of the roof rail structure now that the underpad is removed, want to see if there are fasteners for holding clips already in there.
They woudl be somwhere verticle from the rear seatback.

    Thank you!!

See if you can find another sunroof cassette, mine was all rusted like that and would always jam up. While you've got the trim out it only takes a few minutes to change.

Ok, with the two replacement drivers side doors front, rear and replacement tailgate back on the car, my attention turned to the headlining.

The sunroof has to be open to remove a trim piece. This presented a slight problem as I was unable to power it.
Thankfully there is a manual method, which can be used to crank the sunroof open or closed.

By inserting the provided allen wrench , you can manually crank it. Clockwise to open, anticlockwise to close.

Unfortunately it was a little stiff after being idle for years .

    Chubby Checker would be proud.

    Getting there.

This is the trim that has to be lifted.

Held by these clips. This came up easily enough.

These clips were difficult to remove with out causing damage to clips or headliner.

A cheap screwdriver bent like this makes things a lot easier.

Easy does it. This would be so much easier on a sunny day, as the glue would be easier to overcome.

    This pad held very well.

The root of my sunroof stiffness.

    Headliner down.

Sunroof drains are clearly visible in this shot.

Plastic surround comes off easy enough, pull in from the sides, and out towards bottom of tailgate.

A bit of wear on the cloth tape but wires seem ok, will give a closer look tomorrow.
All the electrical comes through the left side, and water and vac comes through the other side.

These have to be disconnected from the outside.

A hot air gun on low setting softened up this and was easy to take off.

    Tailgate off.

I also got time to fit the drivers door , kinda looks 'allroad' with no weight in it.

Alignment is only a tiny bit off.

That's exactly what I was thinking too!

    Yep.

Can't advise much on the tailgate other than to say make sure that you attach a decent 'fish' wire to the looms on both respective sides when pulling the looms / washer hose out of the tailgate.

If you do remove the tailgate fully from the body shell, it will give you an opportunity to inspect and redo the tailgate loom at the hinge part where some cores of the loom may be broken, or their plastic sheath broken through from years of bending from the tailgate being opened and closed.

    Looking forward to the photos.

    Thanks.

Thats exactly what I was wondering. Fish the lines up out of the holes ... I dont know why I thought there would be another way.

Not much done today, apart from removing the rear door cards and carpet.

Could not see these pins until it was pointed out to me above.

Carpet came out without too much trouble.
What sins lay under the underlay.

None. Very happy with the condition of the floor.

I also removed the scar makers.

Next up, fit the replacement doors, and tailgate.
Any tips for removing the tailgate?
