More NLA business. This one annoyed me, and they tend to rot on all avants. There are no equivalent B5 Rs4 shields either.

So I decided to make one.

I think this shield came from an A6. Got it very cheap.. NLA guilt and all that.

I wrapped the old shield shield in a black bag, put it into a box big enough and rested it on some standoffs.
I then sprayed this stuff underneath it and waited

After waiting a few days for to to cure, I cut the excess foam and was able to extract the shield leaving the bag in contact with the foam.

    Hammertime.

Got this in the post this week
Should eliminate a common point of failure.

Before I could start what I wanted to get done today, the tank had to come off again so I could properly sort out the fuel return. As well as fit the new cap.

Tank reinstalled, I fitted my B5 RS4 heat shield (RS2/s2 is NLA). It only needed slight modification and it fitted.

    Part number for those interested.

    New nuts bolts etc.

    Bambridges tie bushes

Bambridges solid mounts. These took some fitting, as the tolerance is very tight and the POR15 had to be sanded back so they could fit.

Rear end is up and mostly attached. Just need to torque it up tomorrow.

    New brake line fitted.

And front to rear brake line.

I thought they were NLA too, but to my surprise they weren't, so I ordered 3 of them. €11+vat

I got the coils from ebay.de auction with the loom , about two weeks before Alex started making his looms ..doh!

Well, I need a bigger MC than the one I have now - which is a black steel tube one found on a B4 80q that presumably is 23.81mm. I have my ABS system removed completely, so technically I'm without ABS I guess that one from the transporter, if it fits the vacuum assisted servo on a B4 80q, will be a perfect bonus to my bigger than stock front and rear caliper pistons?

Just note that it's a non abs mc, although its a tandem mc like the s2, I am unsure of the difference between that and the s2 abs one.
