This is the 80 in question. It's a Parisian car in Volcano Black Mica (LZ9U), a roadburning 98kws of NG 5 pot, a cloth interior, wet dog smell, glowing ABS light to keep you company at night and many, many parking dents in the doors.

The best advice I could give is to give "RS2 America" by saltinot a good read, as it pretty much does what is outlined in the op.
http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26534 Fueled by the inability of getting an RS2 due to import ban, and the love of the RS2.
Any further comments by me would propably detract from the spirit of the op/thread as a LHD RS2 just recently sold for £7500 on ph.Comment

I've read the RS2 America thread a worryingly large amount of times already. The colour change is the only thing I can't bring myself to pay to have done. I don't (can't) paint so paying for that sort of bodyshop time is just too much for me - it'll be having enough of that to make it look good anywayThe best advice I could give is to give "RS2 America" by saltinot a good read, as it pretty much does what is outlined in the op.

You can always buy cars for less then you can build them for, (thesamba.com classifieds are testament to that) and the phrase "don't build what you can buy" exists with good reason, but I've always enjoyed doing things the way I do.Comment

Unlike the C3/C4 limos, B4 limos can fold the rear seats
I like wagons aswell, thats why I have UrS6 Avant not Limo, but RS2 limo would be a tad more special than Avant, because there were only 4 produced.Comment

I can kind of undestand this project although I wouldn't do it. There is no better satisfaction in doing all the work and seeing the reward for endeavor, and if that is what you're after then fair play - do it.
It would have been a lot easier for me to just buy an S2, instead of building my CQ, but I never intended to do it thos way when I started, but once you get stuck into a project there's the tendancy to want to see it through and the car becomes part of your very existance. In the end get exactly what you want, whatever that might be.
I'd have converted a rough RHD S2 Avant to LHD and gone from there
Good luck

At least the base car is correct an avant..

It is true what you all say but i bet the base car cost peanuts an when its done it will look lovely.
But yeah door stips on doors are different think they are the same as audi 90 on doors strips half way up the door and the bottom ones good luck..
I was thinking about cutting up some passat ones..

Took me about six years to get bits and bobs and im still looking for some stuff but you do get to the point of thinking 200 pounds for little bits of plastic that fit under the headlights and yet look just the same as the normal audi 80 ones but a slight slope on them ..
an as long as you leave out little bits like this your going to find it a bit cheaper..

I admire your courage, but I really can't see the point in this as
a, it'll cost you a small fortune to get all of the RIGHT parts
b, you'll probably spend hundreds of hours doing this
c, your time and money would be much better spent on renovating an old dog of an RS2, assuming you can find one, or maybe start off with an S2 Avant
d, chances are you'll never recoup your money when you come to sell it
Good luck though

Good luck and all the best if you do attempt it though.
