The MAF signal I need is because I am developing MAF code.
I can just take the signal reference from the ECU itself, then take a pot and feed it back to it.
    So that's not a problem.

    I will check DAQARTA, thanks.

Hmm, Daqarta seems only be able to use two channels of my four channel soundcard...
And I am not sure I need something so complicated, I mean it's just a sinewave for the G28...

G28 is actually a sawtooth wave and you only need two channels for G4 & G28... well thats the way I was proceeding so as to use counter logic to simulate G40 as that as to surround alternate G4 pulses.

DAQARTA nicely lets you create the correct shape of G4 signal - doing that with some analog monostables is a lot trickier to simulate the correct shape...

I thought about just coding something small in java and expressing stuff mathematically.
Alternative would be some sort of evaluation board with 3 DAC's.

That could be wired right in.

            I've been looking around...
What do you think about this?

            http://www.exar.com/Common/Content/P...aspx?ID=XR2206

They are fairly cheap, could use a bunch of these powering on simultaneously, that should probably be in sync?
            Or could synchronize them.

Paul: Just so you know, the North American UrS4s and UrS6s came with a road speed limiting coding plug. Limited speed to 130 mph (208 kph) because Audi was concerned that people would not run V rated tires after the OE tires wore out. (They feared H-rated tires would be used instead).

Can't wait for the finished emulator.

I can't wait for the emulator to be started properly - LOL... Interesting that AAN code might then support the speed limiting function - should be easy to confirm on the bench... Actually any Euro AAN owner could try it also by simulating a code plug - would need to look up what pins get connected for that - I have the info here somewhere.

Euro AAN all supports speed limiters and the speed limiter is configurable in the ECU.

I've never gone looking for it but is good to know. Do you know the maths for adjusting it or just experiment with high vs low values ?

I've read that on some audi models in some territory that the code plug can be used to limit speeds when running with winter tyres. Cannot remember details though.

                        Connected:
                        14
                        18
                        24
                        27
                        55

                        What am I missing?
Do I need the other grounds as well?

ECU doesn't wake up when sending wakeup over K-Line.

You absolutely need all the grounds. Pins 10, 14, 19 and 24 - that is from memory so please check diagrams

I was able to get obd running and use emulator to skimming over some code - though never jumping to anything interesting as there was no g4-28-40 inputs of course. Oh then I faked the g28 input to find the point where it activated the fuel pimp. It is a cool project - I really must clear my bench and make time to get back into it.

The click is the internal holding relay which supports the switched 12v feed.

Btw, regarding not reading anything - it doesn't run IEX0 and IEX3, so it's normal.

All I need right now is to get the OBD protocol working, as I am re-writing motronic's datalogging routines and bringing the datalogging functionality up to par with programmable ECU's
                              Here is a useful site:

                                Okay, now I have:
                                10 - Ground
                                14 - Ground
                                18 - +12V
                                19 - Ground
                                24 - Ground
                                27 - +12V
                                30 - Ground
                                55 - K-Line

                                Still doesn't respond to vag-com.

                                What am I missing now?
There's something regarding 12V supply via fuel pump relay. I don't need that, do I?
