got in new rear (front 4000) wishbones today and sway link (90 front)

new sway bar will eat the stock one for breakfast

started drilling/cutting out stock bushed to make room for delrin ones

    7 to go

picked up this stuff very durable and self priming perfect for the subframes and wishbones, 3 coats of this will keep out all moisture and protect from rocks sand salt
    or whatever else

          laidoff ahhh

So I sold off my beloved BBS RS wheels( I really miss them) and was just about to buy 1k+ worth of suspension components to continue my build.....but I got laid off Monday so now I'm debating if thats the best idea. Figures when you got the money you dont have the time and when you have the time cant afford the money ahhh :x

Anyways Ive done a few other small things to the coupe in the mean time. I took out the stock airbox and put in a cone filter and built a heat sheild.

I also upgraded the h1 headlights and the h3 foglights to HID. The h1s are 55w 8000k and the h3s are 35 6000k (not much fog around here so went higher). Also did the corner and driving lights in white led and it all matches up as far as color.

Also fitted some Treser/Seima tinted taillights. I cut out the orange bulb inside and also wrapped them in tinted Lamin x as they were slightly faded and looked more purple in the sunlight, much better now. Added some 3M cf to the center section to match my cf rear emblem.

Mmmm.. shiney! Those rear tie riods might not work though... The stock ones are bent for a reason dude
If you look at the car on the left hand side as you look at the car form the rear a straight rear tie rod will impact the chassis as the struts compress

It is definitely tight there. It almost seems like the end of the tie rod would hit first though. Its hard to tell with out fitting them but it seems like they will fit, tight though. Can anyone confirm that has tried?

On a side note, after looking around a bit more underneath it looks like ill be needing some new fuel and brake lines while I have the subframe off.

Pop the rod-end off the hub carrier and push he tie rod up to simulate a heavy suspension deflection, you will see that the curved OEM tie rod prevents it from impacting the chassis

                        Yes you are right Error

welp there are some factors for that test.....whether it has a rear subframe with or without stock rarb mounts matters as the ones without mounted the tie rod in a different position and has stock straight rods. Also if the rear subframe is the same as mine then we dont know if 034 did any chassis "refining" to make clearance for them.

when i ordered these i checked the option for coupe with stock rarb so I figured something may be different other than length. Ill ask 034 about this scenario and see what they have to say

It would be quite annoying/unsafe if every time i hit a large dip in the road the suspension compressed and then the chassis on the left side hit/bounced off the tie rod and dipping more on the right side throwing the weight off mid turn

                          KW V3s are in

                          KW V3s are in....

Front upper strut nut was a biatch

OEM versus KW with 034 track density top mounts

                          Rebound adjustment(set midway @ 9 clicks)

                          Rear rebound adjustments

                          Compression adjustment underneath(set midway @ 7 clicks)

4000 CAs to link in a meaty sway bar

New front tie rods,17mm adjusters, and delrin inner bushings

O34 rear spherical tie rods are too long and at best leave the toe in way too far, looking at this company to make me new linkage http://www.midwestcontrol.com/part_family.php?id=7, frozen oem ones back on for now

This weekend at Limerock with some conservative low

Sway bars are currently off, waiting on new front links, 2 4000 bar brackets, and rear tie rod linkage. In the mean time playing with compression/rebound to find a good balance

behind a Heffner twin turbo R8 at Limerock track, it sounded like what you would envision an angry god sounds like :corey:

Haven't updated in a while as I moved and have been without interweb for a bit.
26mm X 2 sway bars are on. Also problem with rear spherical tie rods fixed. Compression set @ 9/14 clicks F/R and Rebound @ 12/18 clicks F/R. Still need some fine tuning and I may play with different front/rear settings. As it sits now though car handles amazing compared to where it was at.

Rear 26mm bar mounted, new links, bushings, and spherical tie rods

Painted front brackets/New brackets in back and 034 uprated bushings

                            Sanded and painted front bar

Front 26mm bar mounted with new links

Also did some non suspension related things....
Finally flushed out the old green stuff from the previous owner, filled with proper blue G11

                            Cleaned up coolant neck

Swapped in a new 87degree thermostat for an old broken one

                            Scored a bagosnakes heat shield

Primed, painted, and cured with 2000 degree paint, painted/new hardware

                            Mounted

                            Couple shots in my driveway

So the goals for the build are the same but the order of it will change. Originally I was going to first focus on the rear but will now focus on the front end first. In the back I want to add a V8 Torsen (which I put a deposit on one from a forum member(not this forum) who skipped with my money ) and the fuel lines need to be replaced while the subframe is out. So im holding off on the rear til I have the V8 Torsen in hand to tackle the rear. Next phase I will probably refurb the front subframe/control arms.

Not much of an update (been concentrating on getting the 200 on the road) but while doing an oil change the other day I look over and see cv grease everywhere, cv boot split and spilled its guts over everything

oh the joy of cleaning cv grease and brake dust mix...

                                the culprit

rear sway bar is too stiff lol it wouldn't let the tire touch with one jack on the lowest setting so had to shim up

only one split but figured might as well do preventative maintenance before the other front one does, so fit both front cvs with new boot kits.
