      Jim,

Lovely work. Dream about doing the same conversion to my ACE fwd B4 Avant, or even a 16v G60 conversion for the extra instant power and the noise of the charger, but too many other bits to do on all of the other cars first, so it's at the bottom of a mega long list, but it nice to think about it.

Compared to a 1.8T or even an ABY, the 2.0L 16v ACE engine seems like such a dead engine, especially as it is a 16v. Must be the throttle body insert and the cams ? I'm sure a KR spec from a Mk 2 16v Golf applied to the ACE engine would perk it up. An halfway house between the ACE and the 1.8T might be a 2.0L 16v ABF from a Mk 3 Golf ? But tbh a turbo or charger of some sort is really the only way to go.

Your engine bay looks very oem now. The only things I'd change is the green caliper paint back to black or maybe silver at a push. The brakes are nothing special, (don't need to be), and the green paint only serves to highlight them in a negative way, and distract attention from the rest of the very good looking car. Plus change front indicators to white. Sprayed black does the car no favours.

A thought that occurred to me is that for someone who like the B4 Cabrio, if they buy a late model high spec 1.8 n/a, and make it into a turbo they'll have some quick, economic, fun, later (than normal for an S2) B4 model car.

It will only lack quattro and the noise, but still a great idea, and easy enough on juice to be a not too costly daily runner.

Looking forward to your future posts when more progress is made.

btw, in the meantime can you post some info on the size of the rims, ET, and their part number even, if you get a chance ?

      Thanks.

      Kind regards.

The 16v engine I took out, I put ABF cams in. Im not going to go into details here, but back in my original thread, I looked at both and I figured the ABF ones were a better option than the KR ones. I also had a modified 20v tubular manifold fitted, and a bit of port matching etc, she went pretty well after about 4000 rpm.

Just cant beat the 1.8t option for both power and economy compromise and ease of install etc.

I like my green calipers They have been upgraded from the 280mm discs to 312mm and bigger piston calipers. Brakes are now fantastic. I wouldn't have been happy driving the car with the planned 240-250 hp on the standard brakes.

I think the green on the brakes is quite subtle under the wheels, cant really see them unless your looking, I like the fact that unless you know, the car looks pretty stock, then you get a little glimpse that maybe there is something special about it. A bit like this - .................

The front end and indicators is something I am thinking about at the moment, I really like this -

Been thinking about doing this for ages but im not sure. I did them black because I didnt like the miss match of the indicators and the fogs, I thought if they are going to be different they might as well be completely different lol Its work in progress.

The wheels are off an A8 I believe. They are 17 x 8J with an offset of ET48 I think. Like these ones - http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthr...17-quot-Wheels

I have 15mm spacers at the back and 10mm at the front, could probably run 15mm at the front but not sure.

they are a bit rare, look for A6 4.2 rims every now and then and you'll find them for a decent price.

Another thing work picking up is a set of ellipsoids with HIDs in the low beam, then you can actually see where you are going in the dark. Dip beam is horrendous on the reflector headlights.

Yeah dips are pretty shocking, tend to put my fogs on if the roads are quiet, helps a bit. There is something about ellipsoids that I don't like the look of, can't put my finger on it though, maybe its the googly eye in the middle. Hmm..... Lol

I'm collecting parts for "the next phase" "POWER!"

Made up some bases to mount my seats at the weekend too. Pics to follow at a later date.

How have you found the Spec clutch?

Its great, lovely and light. I expected it to be heavy but its not at all. Not really done any heavy starts with it or anything but I don't doubt its capability.

                                Hey bikerjim.
Could you take some pictures and tell where you have placed the air filter?
I see that the swap a lot of work, time and all you do accurately.
                                Good luck.
