Thanks for the tip, I'll need to look into that. They came from a v6 coupe that had 176k on it when it was broken, but they are still lovely and comfy, just a little 'patina' to them.

I have pretty much all of the parts for the swap apart from an ABY loom now.
Will you be at the Grouse meet in crief?
Any time you want, would be no problem. I work offshore, so I'm home quite a lot. If I'm not working during the Grouse meet, then I'll hopefully be making it there.

Right choice getting rid of the 19s, can't imagine how much they weighed!

How long have you had those alloy topmounts on there? Any feedback on them?
Thanks. They were QS Sport ones that came with the car, they started creaking a little and bought some of the ebay ones, which a garage minced trying to get on, so I'm on the standards now. I could have probably regreased my original ones, or got new bearings for them, but hindsight is a great thing.

Looking to get adjustable ones next, was following lind4hl's thread as this is what he was going to do, but he got rid in the end. Need to find a good fabricator to chop my turrets!

So early on last year, David (s2driveruk) and myself decided to go to GrĂ¼sch (and Le Mans and The Nurburgring), so I decided that I'd treat the car to a couple of goodies:

      From Carsten:

      From ericd on here:

Which went straight to The Polisher, who is local and among the best. The attention to detail is amazing, more photos to follow of the completed wheels.

      And off we went:

Thanks David, it's getting there slowly!

This is about as good a photo as I have of the wheels just now, I'll get more once I polish them up:

A couple from the European jaunt:

And again, at everyone's favourite Toll Road:

Next up, the continuation of the interior tidy-up...

I bet you weren't with two rough Jocks, one of who is a bit scared of cable cars that bang about the place!

So, after a trip round Europe, the car went in for the MOT. Obviously this couldn't go smoothly:

Drivers side rear coilover pishing fluid out of it. Cutting a very long story short it turns out that the garage, Deutschtek that installed these used a set of vice grips or similar to hold the damper rod steady.

I have no idea what their thinking was as they seemed like reasonable guys when I dealt with them in the past.

I was already booked to go back out to Germany the next month for 10 days at the 'Ring, so that ended up being cancelled. The coilover went back to Carsten who overhauled it and sent it back - top service and another owed! Thanks!

I've got my original suspension on the rear of the car just now, so that will be one of the things being re-fitted before she goes back on the road.

Also one of these brand new to fit after experiencing rapidly rising oil temps at aheMPH on the continent:

I think they suit a bigger car personally - they're nice, but disproportionate on the S2, IMHO.

Yeah, Mike and Darren do some amazing work, I was blown away by some of the stuff they had lying about. I'll make sure that they are all polished up for Crieff, with centre caps!

Hi Norman, yeah, it probably will bankrupt me eventually! Yeah, it only needed a couple of bulbs, not bad for another old motor - 180k now!

Hope to see you at the Famous Grouse, as I've not seen the ur since it's been completed and bolted back together, looking forward to it!
