Lots of other small fixing work going on and around this time I had a really annoying boost leak that I just couldn't find, really did my head in for awhile

    Collected this lot from Audi

You don't like to see it flapping about...

Cut a piece off from the splash panel and re-fitted it back in place

October 2011, Time to attack the broken rear bumper mount.
Once I took the bumper off I realised that the plastic side bracket had broken as well
But as luck would have it, a mate posted me them as well when he sent me the mounts, top bloke!
    No more wonky bumper

Yes, I know it needs a clean

29th October 2011. At last, i found the boost leak!!!
This poxy 'T' hose was split underneath...

It was very advisable for me to fit some bonnet pins as I no longer have a bonnet catch, just the two main spring pins connected to the bonnet cable pull.
I don't really fancy having a mouthful of grill if it flies up
I'm pretty certain its time for a oil and filter change as well
Work discount is cool, paid peanuts for a set of rear discs and pads

New front right hand side brake caliper

Ordered myself brand new front and rear S2 bumpers from work
Only the ellipsoids left to get.
      Bloody dangerous working at Audi

Fast forward to Jan 2012. Laid up the car over the winter.

Time for re-reg and Swedish MOT, I have never had so much hassle in all my life.
Came so close to totally losing the plot.
After 7½ years in the Army, I thought I have seen my fair share of idiots that grace the face of the earth.
BUT this MOT tester made it to the top of my s**t list what a :corey:
Really picky and arsey, had a couple of 'moments' with him.

After spending most the day there going through the paperwork and arguing the toss.
Engine swap, which was Ok'ed by the DVLA.
Had a new V5 with the AAN engine details on it.
Engineers report done by a garage in the UK.
New UK MOT with the AAN engine in the car.

        and he still wasn't happy....

In the end it failed the MOT (no surprises there), vindictive A'hole.
        Rear brake caliper
        Front fog lamp pattern
        Front wing indicator flashing white
Brake pipes (rear) chaffing against the metal brackets
No bonnet safety pins (I forgot to fit these)
        HC 144 (must a 100 or lower)
CO 0,5 (must be 0,3 or lower)

In the UK it will pass if the HC's are 200 or lower.

Once the weather got a bit better I started to sort it out for another re-reg and MOT (£140-£160 a pop, not cheap....)

Airfilter was the first thing to be binned.
It wasn't a good setup from the begining but that's all we could manage at the time, being a bit rushed etc.

Now the new filter clamps directly onto the MAF. Gone are the excess plastic pipes and silicone hose, it wasn't a tight fit plus it looked a bit sh**e.
Have also replaced the missing top mount plastic cap, great expense of 70p

          I have also:
          fitted new injectors,
          new thermostat,
          cleaned out the MAF,
          new spark plugs,

          Replaced all 4 stab bars,
Replaced all 4 front brake hoses (one had a slight split, as a precaution I did all 4)
No messing about, new lambda from Audi
          New rear caliper
For appearances I changed the front grill
Took out the front fog lamp bulbs (have replacement front fog lamp)
Changed the front wing indicator bulb (now flashes yellow)
          Fitted bonnet pins
Fitted rubber grommets for the rear brake pipes
New oil catch tank ready to be fitted

Went back for a re-reg and MOT 9th August.
          No advisories
          Failed

Last time at the MOT station:
          CO: 0,2
          CO @ 2500rpm: 0,5 (fail)
          HC: 141 (fail)
          Lambda: 1,01

          This time:
          CO: 0,1
          CO @ 2500rpm: 0,2 (pass)
          HC: 130 (fail)
          Lambda: 1,01

HC's have come down, but not enough. Need it to be under 100

          I can't win....now its up for sale

The interior is not the best, so I have purchased 4 seats (in black with the silver stripe), 4 matching door cards (in black), complete black carpet, black dashboard - all yet to fit.
Brand new S2 front (with grills) and rear bumpers from Audi - yet to fit.
Matching Avus 16" spare wheel, very good tyre.

              Hi Donatas,
You won't find that 'T' shaped hose on a standard AAN, it will be 'L' shaped. Intake side of the engine near the back.
Reason why mine is T shaped is that we did away with the brake bomb and fitted a normal brake servo instead. That T shaped piece is common on the 7A engine.

I have never taken the wastgate apart so I'm sorry I can't help you there.

              Cheers

                Do you have a cat?
You will never pass without cat.

If you have a cat, it's not good enough or the engine is screwed...
Or there can be problems with the tune and ignition timing also. If it's too late (=retarded), then you will have high HC too...

I can guarantee that the car won't run right with a cone filter on stock MAF as well.

2 cats and the engine is not screwed (thinking of putting back the 2 original S6 cats as I never had a problem with them in past MOT tests).

Uses no oil, brilliant oil pressure, compression test was spot on.
Serviced every 6 months regardless of mileage.
No puffs of smoke under load, changing gear etc.

Then it's either the cats or the tune.

It has been told to me in the past from a couple of knowledgeable people to get the S6 cats back on there and put a OEM airbox on

Your right Andy - its running on a MTM stage 2 setup and a MTM Hybrid RS2 competition turbo.
MTM (Germany) did the remap etc.

I'm inclined to believe its the cats. So called universal/race ones are either crap or just crap
