Managed to have a tinker with diff locks this morning, I wanted to be able to activate both diff locks independently but without having a standard Audi control panel.

So came up with the idea of using two Audi S2 rear diff control units, I have mounted these to the underside of the dash.

These have then piped into the original vacuum lines. I have made a new loom and have now wired two stainless push button switches and two stainless indication lights into the centre panel

Here is with both diffs locked in

I can carry this theme onto the main instrument panel when I do that.

The main rev counter however is proving to be illusive!
It is made by Spiess Motorsport as these are the guys I have since found out that made the tuned engine in the original car.

I have emailed them to see if I can buy one but not holding my breath.

Well still waiting for parts for crank position sensor!!!! I have sent them lots of email asking where they are but no reply. however I have been following the tracking information and it appears that they are sat in Los Angeles sorting department :wall:

So in the mean time I have been making a few little additions to make it closer to the original vehicle.

Here is a picture of the battery isolator.

Here is a picture of the front air jack

Here is a picture of the rear air jack.

I have installed a pull cord and sticker as per original

I have cut the floor skins but will need to go and buy some steel tube to sleeve over the air jack to retain it in position.

I have then duplicated this in the rear.

Then here is a picture of the original air jack coupling.

And here is a picture of my air lance attached to the nozzle.

Very Nice work. I am ashamed I have never seen an air jack setuo before. Never followed that field of motorsport.

How are you doing re can bus / dash info ? Did you manage to find a solution?

          Thanks mate....

as far as the canbus is concerned I have found an item which I believe will do the job.

          http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3705485494...84.m1423.l2649

The most common use for canbus converters are supplied to the taxi industry so they can charge per mile from the speedo signal.

O my god I am so excited I could pee myself!!!!!!

The crank position sensor arrived today. However the crank timing ring did not arrive, so I though just out of interest I wonder if I could hold the sensor by hand roughly in position through the inspection hole in the bell housing AND........

Tonks are you going to cage it? Your going to need to brace those air jacks they come out with some force!

                      Looks good

                          Thanks guys....

As far as the jacks are concerned, I was in search of some 63.5mm internal diameter tubing, however no steel supplier that I called was able to supply anything so, I put a call into a local exhaust company to me. They managed to use some 63mm OD pipe and then flare it on there machine that they use for making sleeves for exhaust joining.
These tubes I have welded into the floor pan front and rear just on passenger side so far.

I have operated the 2 jacks with a regulator from one of my 300 Bar dive cylinders and it goes up a treat

There is no flex in the floor whatsoever and I have sent it up and down about 10 times already.

When I do find someone to make my cage I will have braces but for now the jacks I am confident will operate with no adverse affects
