The gearbox should fit to the engine, AFAIK the bellhousing on the gearbox has a boltpattern for I4/I5/V6. ETKA lists the clutch diameter as 240mm for V6 and 228mm for TDI, so the clutch and flywheel from A4 should be ok.
Rear ratio is the same for V6 and TDI: 35 : 9 = 3.889, also driveshaft flange is 100mm on both. I'm not sure about propshaft but they are both 01A gearboxes, so i'm hoping that the 80 propshaft should bolt on to A4 gearbox. I'd rather keep the 80 rear diff as it has manual diff lock in it.Comment

Get the engine out from donor car 2h work and done nice and smooth

Then started easy thing
Wiring All out front panel heater etc

And after some hours of
its done
In this moment looks like its will be not so hard to change original wiring from 2.8 to this one only thing whats worry me is immobilizer
but we will see
Next thing what i found out taking wires out was small issue about accelerator pedal need to use one from diesel and take all pedal housing out Because diesel have electric accelerator pedal but 2.8 manual.
Every second i spend on the car i understand more and more that idea to buy whole car was the best
because so many bits and pieces are not the same.
Next on the plan is
1)
Sort out engine mounts original 2.8 no good original 1.9 nearly impossible to take off
2)Gearbox
3)taking apart 2.8
If somebody have some advice or think i am doing something wrong

Hi,
Not sure if this is any use to you, I *should* have a spare 5 speed gearbox from a 80q 2.6 V6.
Pretty certain we met at Eric's (Warrington, on the same road quite near to you) when you and 'Spions' looked at the parts from the green S6 I'm breaking, I remember then you mentioned about the TDi conversion you were working on.
I'm back at Eric's from Tuesday onwards for about a week.2007 A4 2.0TS quattro (220)
