Weight reduction is where its at if your planning on a track car, these are very heavy cars to begin with, it just depends how far you want to go.
Defo swap to a aby airbox, the 3b one is so restrictive. The aby intercooler is slightly bigger or get one of the big ones from fleabay, I may have a decent bigger one somewhere i'll have to have a look.Comment

It didn't come with a airbox so will be going on the ABY one I have.Weight reduction is where its at if your planning on a track car, these are very heavy cars to begin with, it just depends how far you want to go.

I think the issue with the S2 is weight but being fair there is only so much you can really do, once the interior is out there isn't a huge amount that can be removed to save weight, the doors weigh a fair bit and sadly the engine being nigh on 200kgs hanging over the front wheels is always going to have a big effect on handling unless your willing to spend out on some trick parts.
I'm sure Dave will agree its a car to have some fun in, not something that he aims to break any records with.Comment

A good start is to start balancing it all out, Rad in the rear...... Electric steering but like you said thats already alot of moneys spent. It didn't come with a airbox so will be going on the ABY one I have.

Right so to keep you updated the dash is now out in preperation for the engine loom swop! im sure we will have a bit of a tide up behind there as well, one seat is out already and the other will come out shortly as will the carpet, but the carpet will probably go back in.
Im thinking about going for lowering springs for a start just to see what its like on them but will look for some coilovers at some point as well as anti roll bars.Comment

koni's/hnr's, rs2 farb and whiteline rarb is a good place to start. If you like it a bit more tail happy just get a whiteline rear
Think balance motorsport do them at a reasonable price.
Are you leaving the dash stock or doing anything to it to reduce glare etc?Comment

I dont mind tail happy! i have been having a look around for some prices i can get springs and adjustable dampers for what i consider reasonable money, haven't seen any anit rolls bars yet so thanks for the heads up on the whiteline one pete, i will check them out!Comment

I can vouch for Balance Motorsport to get the white RARB from, top service! I got mine next day but it all depends on the stock in the country at the time, it can take some time for the shipments from kangeroo land to get here.
Also as many people will tell you, the paint finish isn't the best quality so it may pay to blast it and paint it up!1996 Audi S2 - 295bhp and 326lb/ft - Complete Rebuild Project

yeah, whatever you do don't use demon tweeks lol, your be waiting for ages. Check the forum for threads about this.
And yeah as above recoat it as the factory finish you'd be lucky to have last a year in decent climates, i've never seen one in a re-fittable fashion out of all i've seen and the three i've had now.
what springs and shocks have you been looking at?
I'm not sure but I think kw v1 coilovers last I heard was around the £700 mark.Comment
