How on earth did you get those tyres looking like that?

They had plenty of tread when I shipped them up to you

Are those the you had off me? You are a patient man that was aaaaaages ago

Looks like your boost gauge is not quite zero'd either. I need to take the face off mine to reset it.... hopefully without damaging it

Haha, yeah, those are your old rear wishbones! I'm not patient, just lazy!

I believe the carbon cover also came via you

Yeah, it's a real shame the gauge is off zero as otherwise Rusty has done a great job to replace the face without leaving a mark. I dare not open it up as I'd definitely damage it.

Yes I think I happened in transit as he would definately have put it on correctly when he fitted the face.

Carbon looks very tasty with that newly refinished cam cover

Still waiting on acceptable weather to get parts fitted. Still got the powdercoated cam cover and suspension parts, ABY intercooler and boost hose kit to go on

Picked these up from a nice chap in Bellshill, near Glasgow, yesterday. I don't know if he's on here but he had a nice Pelican blue V6 coupe

Still going about with no rear bench as my CL has packed in and I want to lift the carpet to trace the wiring. Hopefully get that done by the end of Feb before getting the complete leather mint interior in I've had the rear bench and doorcards sitting for about a year....

As an aside I changed the voltage regulator just now as I was concerned about the low output and the fact I need to give it some revs before the alt starts charging at all (seems a common issue but without a confirmed fix?). Now seeing a healthy 14v on the in-car guage but still having to rev to 3k before I get any charge. The temperature seems to have an effect on this. Colder means more initial revs, warmer not so, sometimes just 2k on a warm day or after it's been driven that day. Any BTDT ideas? Really not a fan of revving a cold engine.

Sounds like the belt is a bit loose mate

Yeah, it's definitely working itself loose so I think I'll get a new adjuster mechanism, but it's on tight and proper now, with the issue persistent. Got a new VAG belt (ooh-err) to go on soon to replace the Conti belt that I put on last year.

It may take a few miles for a voltage regulator's brushes to wear in to fit the slip rings, depends how badly worn they are.

                          All just for these :\

Found a few holes in the old boost hoses and also replaced the N75 and dump (recirc) valve. Scared myself a bit on the test drive... it's definitely found a good few missing horses

Went to change to an ABY intercooler but seem to be missing a bracket Also, not overly impressed with the fitment of the Roose MAF to turbo hose, to the extent I was going to reuse the old bellows, but discovered a hole in them.

A long time coming but looks like you've made quite a lot of progress and is looking really good

What was bad about the fitment for the Roose MAF hose? Did you get the 3B kit or ABY?

The Roose MAF hose is just too big and the angle of the bend in the intercooler to intake pipe (I meant to say that it was a hole in this pipe that prevented me reusing the original, it was so bad) isn't enough. It's a 3B kit. I might look into Samco but obviously ain't best pleased considering the cost of these kits
