You can change the style the forum displays by selecting your preferred style at the bottom left of the site.
We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
If you want to have lots of gauges and quickly, the only way are factory logging protocols on newer ECU's.
On M2.3.2 the factory logging protocol sucks donkey balls so I wrote my own...
I'll be keeping an eye on this as there are also people working in a VEMS build to run on r-pi. I would not want to really tune on a carputer but I can think of some cool dashboard ideas and XBMC would be nice!
All this is well over my head but it does look pretty cool! Anyway while I was searching for something else I came across these links and thought they might be of interest:
Power supply built... it has 2 DC converters in it just for future-proofing it as a usb power source in the car, with a couple of USB outputs.
I'm going to power the USB hub from it which i'll then use to power the pi and other usb devices. I'll hook it up to the car this weekend and test it out.
The box is a bit smaller than my iphone 4 and about twice as thick.
I'd love to integrate the RPi into a larger box along with an embedded GPS with external antenna, to create a proper "black box" for the car
