Probably fine - but it might be the pin on the flywheel that has gone missing. Anyway, I have put lots of crank sensor info including maintenance and pin info (look for the hyperlinks) into this G4/G28 post:

Well I am getting an error on vagcom, so I am pretty sure it's that, I will remove it tomorrow and hope it's nothing serious.

I read your post about cleaning the sensors, can it be so bad that it doesn't start at all?

Success, it was crank sensor afterall, quite relieved.

Happiness short lived. Fuel pump gave up...thankfully it's the same as on my 2.6

That is a rare failure. What was the failure mode? Any photos of the failure that I could add to my G4/G28 info post?

Nothing, looks all okay. No cracks no nothing, i can take a picture later if you want

News are just getting worse: i can't fit my 18s without spacers, caliper is too wide with new pads and wheel won't fit. So need either 5 or 10mm spacers. Gutted.

Removed the cam sensor and it was very oily and dirty, and that could possibly be the problem, because I am not getting any error messages, and I can start it 20 times in a row, and then it won't start again, so it might not be picking up the signal.

So far so good. Started the car today, and seems to run ok, started every single time Should get my wheel spacers tomorrow which means I can take her home, that's where fun begins.

I forgot how quick the S4 is, can't wait to have it as my daily.

Got this in the post today from a friend of mine, it will have red stitching when done properly. I want diamond stretched door cards and sunroof to match.

So, finally I got her home. Problems with the starting is something to do with immobilizer, because she wasn't starting, locked and unlocked and starts fine.

- Is there any way of disabling immobilizer?

But as usual problems doesn't stop there. In 3rd gear @ around 3000rpm, it won't won't pick up speed anymore and sort of judder, can it be a boost leak?





With 5mm spacers, looks very nice IMO, but would like a bit more "out" in the front, but that means front will be wider than rear.
