Usually the speedo reeds higher than the GPS so that is not an issue.
I did notice a decrease in acceleration on my 2.8 cabby with 235 45 17 though, but then that (Bolero) wheel/tyre combo was much heavier than the 10 spoke Speedlines with 205 60 15 tyres.

From memory, 7,5 and 8J in 17'' and different ET's as well.
I believe there is a set for sale on here at the moment.

Sounds good, I think they look very nice on C4s. Found two sets both are 4x108, so no good for me.

They are easier and cheaper in 5x112 usually. I bought a set for €250,- incl. good tyres.
I think you should be able to acquire a set if you open a thread in the wanted section.

225/50/16 v 205/55/16 so wider but the diameter.

                    17s are a halfway compromise.

I see, diameter is about the same. Still I think a higher tyre won't do the looks much harm

What was the original size on the V8?

They look very good, I think 225/50/17 is the way to go

I believe the original 15'' wheels on it came with 215 60 15 tyres
