My OE ones work fine at the moment, accelerates smoothly with no hesitation, so will probably leave them be while they do their job, it is £280 to swap to TFSI red ones with the wiring
....and they are not hard to change when they do let go.
Thanks, I will need it!

The underside looks pretty good, except the fuel lines. I would make them a priority.
Looks like the turbo has eaten something at some point judging by those marks on the inlet.Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt

MOT is due June or July so that is definitely a must have. I was wondering what went through that turbo, as some of the cuts are pretty deep

The following wheel and tire combinations give you approximately the same diameter as the stock UrS4 225/50/16:
225/50/16 = 24.86 inches in nominal diameter
245/40/17 = 24.72 inches (99.42% of 24.86)
255/35/18 = 25.03 inches (100.67% of 24.86)
So 18"s will work - but because the tire gets very wide, you might have to go to a lower offset wheel, e.g. ET30 or use a spacer to move the wheel (and tire) out and away from the strut tube.
BTW, because of the "35" aspect ratio, stiff springs with 18" = kidney belts are required.RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan

The only reason I wanted 225/50 is because I want some comfort. Bigger tyres will only affect the speedo right? The following wheel and tire combinations give you approximately the same diameter as the stock UrS4 225/50/16:

I am thinking of downgrading to 17", same style alloys but 225/45 or 225/50 tyre. Definitely don't want 16". Also, because I want all season tyres, there are only certain sizes that are available at decent price.'93 Audi 100 Avant - R.I.P

The point of my examples above is that it is theoretically (but perhaps not financially) possible to find tires that fit 17" and 18" diameter wheels and do not significantly affect the speedometer. Some people say up to 3% out is acceptable.
e.g. 245/45/17 = 25.68" diameter = 103.3% of the 225/50/16 24.86" diameter.RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan

I understand that, at this point I am trying to balance looks with comfort and cost. Just had a look at 225/50/17 so that would improve looks without ruining comfort, and all season tyres go for about £70-80 per tyre. And the difference in height isn't that bad either. The point of my examples above is that it is theoretically (but perhaps not financially) possible to find tires that fit 17" and 18" diameter wheels and do not significantly affect the speedometer. 225/50/17 = 25.86" diameter, 104% of 225/50/16 24.86" diameter.
Too much out IMO.
I run 215/55/16 winters to gain a bit of road clearance (stock winters would be 205/55/16) and the resulting diameter, 25.31", is 101.8% of 24.86"
But hey, go for it, just remember that your speedo is underreading your actual speed = some rish of a speeding ticket even if you are thinking you're at the limit, i.e. "100" = 104 kph.RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan

I usually have GPS and go by that on speed anyways.225/50/17 = 25.86" diameter, 104% of 225/50/16 24.86" diameter.

I will see how it goes with finances, don't want to spend money on something that works and realise I can't buy something that doesn't work
