Getting my coupe ready for her 25th birthday

Well my coupe is coming up for 25 years old so I thought it was time I gave it a bit of a make over.


It was time for a full respray and some new touches with a bit of Botox

It was looking tired in most areas and showing signs of its age All the glass and trim came off and was then collected by the painter and onto the prep work .













the source of my flaking sunroof was revelled when it was rubbed down turns out it was original and had been badly painted before.




Then this happened











It was then flatted and polished and delivered back to me where the rebuild started and some new wheels and a fresh new rs2 bumper along with all new fixings and trims.

Yes its a good price .It was done by a guy in Diss Norfolk,By a friend of my sons.
Very professional.
I had to strip everything, which is no mean task for an amature like me. Then it was picked up on a trailer, and in two weeks returned to me. great service.
I had the windscreen replaced by Paul Gold of gold windscreens, of Ipswich.
He came to the paint shop in Diss to take it out. Then fitted it after the respray.

I have to agree with you John. The car had ellipsoids before ,but they where in need of some attention, so I fitted some hella lights I got from a final addition cabby.
It should of had ellipsoids, but It must have been in a crash, and these where the
replacements. They looked Quite new. Not bad for twenty quid.

thats a great finish and a great price (am very envious given the state mine is in just now cosmetic wise). How much effort was it to strip down to give it to the painters and what bits failed on the way getting them off the car as I am sure some things would be pretty brittle after 25yrs.

If i could get as good a finish on mine for £1200 I would be searching for a runner so I could park it up and start stripping it down
