Hi Josh,Originally posted by Josh-statesidehi jeffer
do you happen to have the head cc'ls of the combustion chamber?
Also is cees planning on selling his flanges to other people?
I am building a standalone 20vt off a 7a block and I need to mount the 3b exhaust manifold upside to work with the intake manifold. Basically I am going to need to buy two waste gate flanges so I can create a curved piece to relocate the waste gate a bit away from the block. I am planning on using a mocal sandwich plate with the 7a oil filter bracket to make this work.
I would also be interested in a downpipe flange. I don't want to jump on anything yet but knowing my options would be great.
thanks
josh
Yes we are selling the flanges. There's one but....., The flanges that you see on my engine are SS#321 and thats very hard to get. So I have to check availability at the steel plant if you want #321. But If you want 304/316 there's no problem. We can make it any way you like it and send it to you. Downpipe flange is also not a problem.
PM me exactly what you want i we make you a price.

I've decide to run the engine in with the current S2 3b setup. First I was planning to take everything out of the car: motor, loom etc.
But if I have installed all the new go faster bits, I reckon I can't start it and drive off imediatly to run it in. There are probably some things that need sorted before it can actualy drive. That means that the engine is running without haveing to make power. So thats not really good for a brand new engine... Also after reading this thread I def. made my mind up. http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...0966#post60966
So what I'm going to do, is take my old engine out (engineblock and head) and leave all the other parts and put the new engine in. That way I can start the car and drive off to break the engine in with the standard 3B setup. That way I can concetrate on running it in, then checking if everything works ok, like flywheel/manifolds/oil lines/new coolant hoses/ADU engine loom etc. etc

if he wants to run the engine in 'hard' you dont really have time for custom mapping, so my guess would be he runs it in with the stock setup to get the rings and everything seated correctly, then slap on the bigger turbo, etc. and you will have no problems doing the custom mapping

The big turbo together with huge MAF will need mapping. I really want to concentrate on breaking in. So that the next step then.

Update.
The new engine is up and running
I'm very pleased with the result. Idle is excellent with the lightweight alloy flywheel. And the response to the gas is amazing with it.
I drove a couple of meters on the driveway, what a great car! Next saturday I'm taking it out on the street. Then breaking in a 1000 km's. After that, mounting the tubular EM and K29 turbo
Can't wait.
