I now fitted the filter just behind the frontlight. I'm planning to put a HKS green filter on there. Relocated the MAF to the pressure side. It runs without problem now.
The sound it makes is utterly amazing. It has the genuine S1 rally chattering sound
I'm still in the breaking in phase. I still need to drive 850 km. Then a remap by the master himself
Hopefully I'm at GTI this year. Doing some 1/4 mile times

Hi Jeffer,

your engine build has been a real interesting read, really impressed with the bespoke components you and your friends created. very cool!
I wish I had the same sort of tooling you have access to! I'm so so tempted to buy an old machining center off ebay and completely fill up my garage with it, just a little unpractical though.
Cant wait to see it at GTI to!

Hey Jeffer - some serious engineering going on there. Looking good... Some folks poo-poo the idea of using two gaskets the way you have, but let us know how you get on with that. The combination of an exotic bottom-end, CR=8.0 and a K29 compressor at full chat should be errrrr 'FUN' when it gets up to speed. Would also like honest views on lag, driveability midrange as well !

In reply on your question. The turbo starts spooling a 3K and full boost really comes at 4K rpm. In lower rpm's the drivability is not sluggish. Its a bit slower then a stock S2 off boost. But to me its ok. I drove a couple of times to my work with it, and that works perfectly. Just cruising along with other commuter's. Taking over is totally different

Jeff , always wanted to ask you how difficult was to fit new tranny ? And what parts were required ?

And what other models have the same gearbox ?

And how it holds the hard lounches ? With what rpms ? =]
