It now runs.

Started first turn of the key after sending fuel up manually.

Replaced the fuel filter. Old one was a genuine Audi item branded Mahle KL36 - used the same type for the new one.





Since the old line had been chopped, I replace that as well. The S2 feed line is NLA so I used an A4 one 8D0 201 218 B. This comes with a crimped rubber fuel hose on the end that the hard lines go straight into.

Fitted new discs and pads to the front. Standard running gear on this car





At the last MOT in 2008, there was an advisory for the track rod end and bump stop on the driver side. Half the bump stop is missing and the track end is destroyed.








Got a new pair of track rods to go on for both sides





Also fitted a new air conditioning drier while the suspension leg was off. It comes with new seals

Certainly taking shape now Mike. Were the steering arms and adjusters from your spares stash or did you get hold of them recently ?

Right side was Ebay from KMS - not my favourite seller but sometimes needs must. Wasn't willing to pay the Tradition price of 190 Euros + shipping

What's the best way to find relevant parts on that site......is it best to have an OE part no? They seem to have a lot of stuff!

Car now has new front track rods

Jobs still to do

fit front fogs and indicators
replace the afterrun relay. fan runs all the time when the battery is connected
fit new fuel pump relay
new bonnet stops and adjust driver side bonnet spring as it doesn't close on that side
secure the front bumper on the driver side
rear brakes - discs / pads
brake fluid flush
put the correct wheels on
fix rear passenger side door - it doesn't close
replace ignition lock / barrel - when you take the key out, the barrel doesn't pop out which I suspect is possibly why my new battery went flat in a week. steering lock doesn't work either so probably all related
dry out the carpet and refit the driver seat
refit the glovebox which is sitting in the passenger footwell beside the ecu which is just hanging down
new wipers and fill with washer fluid
test all electrics
give it a clean

May have to replace the bomb - not sure yet

Nothing major and a lot of the jobs are simple. I'm off next week so should get it all done

Once done I flushed new brake fluid through all 4 corners and fitted the wheels
