I am after a rough guide price for upgrading to RS2 spec on my 3B, would anybody be able to give me a brief run down?
Also, I will be slowly looking to acquire parts so if anyone has any parts I may need then let me know and I'm sure we can come to some sort of agreement.
RS2 Intercooler ~ 250 (I've got a larger intercooler for less than half the price..so far so good! )
RS2/wagner Exhaust Manifold ~ 500
RS2 Turbo ~ 300
034 rods ~ 300
RS2/37lb injectors ~ 150
RS2 airbox ~ 200 (just bought one for £240 from VAGparts)
MRC Remap ~ 500 ( I can get my car remapped for in the region of £150 from a close friend)
Gaskets, bolts etc ~ 500
Labour ouch (Will hopefully be doing this myself)
David: Perhaps when project can of worms finishes you can get cracking on the RS2 side of things?
It will be a little qhile until this happens for me but I would like to get the ball rolling by acquiring parts.
I think there are a few things off in that list. First thing is if you can get a new KKK RS2 turbo for 300 GBP, I can arrange a list of people a mile long to buy them. I think the real price is 600 GBP.
An RS2 turbo can only be pushed safely to about 370 crank HP. The stock rods are good to just over 400 crank HP so 034 rods aren't really needed.
Gaskets and bolts seems a bit high. I would say more like 250 GBP.
Labour: I took all my RS2 parts, down to the last nut and had my mechanic install them. Bill was the equivalent of 200 GBP. Best money I ever spent on my car.

Rod rating is against primarly against torque not bhp. 500nm max 550nm at a push but thats living in the dangerzone.
The RS2 turbo can and will bend stock rods if pushed anywhere near it's potential. There are numerous BTDT.
If you want to run stock rods get a 2871 turbo, it doesn't generate as much torque but has the same bhp output.
You are looking at a 2.5-3k bill to do a true RS2 conversion. Now here's the thing if your adaptable there are many parts that can be used that are cheaper than RS2 items and do the same or better job like the Big IC for example.
RC or 034 injectors etc etc
The two biggest choice are EM manifold and turbo. THe wagner replica looks like it's going to be popular item.
For a turbo if your putting all that outlay into the engine then weigh up do you want a 2871, RS2 turbo or 3071
Recently I've received some questions concerning the suitability of the GT-2871R and 3071R for street use, specifically with the loss of drivability. Since I own a chipped 200q20v still wearing its stock K24 and I do tuning on a pair of 200's that have at various times had an RS2, an RS2 Comp...

Never was a new RS2 turbo mentioned. Im going on the basis that Azman was selling his RS2 turbo at £300 and no one took it - he ended up ebaying it.

Total without labour - £2900......................
So that's how much I've spent, almost.
Wish I hadn't added that lot up.
Thanks

Heh heh.. I don't do list's anymore it's too damn depressing. Of course it is dependant on where you're at; with a heavily modded ABY on stock turbo you're almost there! This is a much easier conversion if you aquire the parts over time and make the odd upgrade (like the RS2 airbox, IC, exhaust) on the way and then do the EM + turbo when everything else is in place ala Laser Avant (Al); his thread is a damn good example of how this can be a good home-brewed project for the enthusiastic among us!
Lol and to think I had a rs2 intercooler and sold it for 120 quid
Said i'd reserve the next one for david if all goes well with it.
..and where does such a supply come from?! Do you have a secret hoarde of broken RS2's? They cost a packet from Audi.. i bought one for about that figure myself, but it had minor pully damage (had been welded, painted + pressure tested tho).
