Already got an ABY so don't need two but it would be pretty amusing.

Aww, but it's got a nice economical 1.6 in it at the moment...

I think I'll pass on this one thanks, it's not exactly a chuckable hot or even warm hatch

btw if you look thru s2avants threads he's posted there is pictures of his old one there looking well

Have found a rather good looking little GT, just got to see if I can cut a deal now :mischeif:

It's great looking at cars where everything is multiples of £50 and not £500 like the S2s

mk 2/3 polos are great little thrashabouts and all the mk1 golf bits i upgraded,(wheels, brakes, dash clocks, front seats etc) are a straight bolt in swap

Filler necks do rust and the tanks are a bit of a PITA fiddle to change but a new tank is only about £50. and there is something satisfying about thrashing the nuts off a car that cost peanuts...............

Make sure you check under the battery too.

I just remembered I've had a few rust through under there...

Lovely bit of kit and I would love it but it fails on almost all counts other than being small

This is turning into a bit of a hunt, keeping me occupied anyway!

Found a GT for sale that looks good but the bloke's not replied to my recent PMs so he obviously didn't like my realistic offer
Found a GT conversion, then tried to get insurance and the best quote I could get was a mere £150 (60%) more than a standard GT with the same mods. Mindlessness of insurance companies strikes again.
Found a later 16v 1.4 that needs some work but it's got not tax or ticket so needs trailering and I can't test drive it legally so it's a real risk. It's up at good money but is a gamble as the top end is noisy...

                          So I'm still looking...

Got one! Silver, 91 J GT witha whopping 178k on it, supposed to have a replacement engine so drove nice and body is solid. Great place to start from and cheap with it. Cheers to S2DriverUK and Acidburn for thei kind offers but no need now! Pics etc. to follow when I get it.
