My one made more across the board and sooner by upgrading to 2.5 at the same time as going fir the 0.82 housing and hybrid coldside. Fuel pump was a single Bosch 044 with 690cc ASNU injectors. The pump is powered directly of the battery using a relay to ensure continuous 14v as stock wiring causes low voltage at the pump from resistance in old wiring. Which originally caused lean issues at 500.Nice numbers !
Yes, the smaller housing provides more power at lower revs...
Was this also with a single fuel pump ?
Since this is an S4 with different ignition setup then an (R)S2, the tune was pretty straight forward: no ignition problems with the stock ignition or intake limitations from the stock manifold...only limit was the 044 Bosch pump...with more fuel 600+ would have been possible....
The smaller housing should basically be plug&play
With the right injectors and 14v on stock fuel lines the limit on the 044 should be closer to 700 not 700ps.UrS6 Stroker + HTA3586 =

Lately i have advised some friends that before going to 2 pump setup it is easier and maybe even cheaper to go with W/M injection kit.
Even with stock wiring one 044 pump and BIG water/methanol nozzel (over 700cc nozzel) you can get to 700hp target. The benefit is a lot less work and cooler IAT.
Before going to 2 pump setup you should think what is the best bang for the buck.
At the moment i regret going to 2 pump setup, because i lost spare wheel place. Luckily i havent need it and i hope i wont.
Of course relaying the pump is the cheapest mods and it will help a lot. But i personally think that there must be at least 10-15% reserv in the fuel delivery. I wont play on the edge of total fuel flow. Maybe some day the generator is not in the best shape and will deliver 13V not 14V and then you have problems.
EDIT: Relaying the pump is still a MUST DO modification. I think i was not clear in that.
If you want 700+hp, then it is very hard to achive with pump gas and without going crazy in rpm (how many of us are using 8000+rmp?). I think that the easiest and cheapest way to achive 700hp capable fuel system is still 044 with realay and WI kit.Last edited by rst; 22 April 2012, 15:09.Audi UrS4 609hp/846Nm @ wheels

Sorry, but this argument is flawed.Of course relaying the pump is the cheapest mods and it will help a lot. But i personally think that there must be at least 10-15% reserv in the fuel delivery. Without a relay you will have a voltage drop. Let's say 2V.
So if you have 14V, you would have 12V at pump, and if you had a problem with the alternator, you'd have 13V and 11V.
With a relay you'd have 14/14 and 13/13.
I would still say relay the pump. All those people running out of 044 at 600hp have no relay. Actually if you remove the restrictor inside 044, the fuel pump is good for 800hp. If you disassemble the 044 you will see there is a TINY hole where all that fuel is going through.
But then the stock FPR will not work anymore, you need a much fatter return or the pressure will be something like 5 bar at idle!Comment

I don't think so. Obviously depends on the VE of the engine, but EGT is ok on stock head with 2 bar at 7000 even on a GT30 turbine, so for a GT35 it should not be a problem.
Of course you need to run correct timing.Comment

I removed the restriction and didn't have any problems with fuel pressure with the std FPR. Are there different versons of the FPR maybe? I've go an AAN FPR.Comment

good info, thats why i was maxxing the pump at 512bhp,also the pump was getting warm.now i know lack of current due to wiringMy one made more across the board and sooner by upgrading to 2.5 at the same time as going fir the 0.82 housing and hybrid coldside.
