What makes are out there to work with the 5 cylinder engine?

why is megasquirt frowned upon? It seems to have all the features of any other ecu?

Is there a viable technical reason?

Megasquirt i believe is one of the cheapest of its type,some have had great success and others havent.Seen a few turbo'd beetles running it very effectively.

There is also microtech.

I have had experience of DTA and Megasquirt V1 and V2 but IMHO I would use one of 034's range of ecus simply because they are aimed at the Audi interms of plug n play loom etc.

Yes I had it in my old car, pile of sh*t. Ditched it and had emerald installed
